For those who saw my picture of my main character, I thought I'd give everyone a brief description of what everything is and does. I changed his armor a bit (I added symbols and all that hoo-hah.) www.imagehosting.us/imagehosting/showimg.png/?id=215538[/img] I know, I know, it DOES look like an anatomy chart but I don't care. =P ;D

Nice work, Tinbok, I like it. I'm just wondering... how are you going to work that into your game?

Hmm... well... haven't thought of that too much lol. Maybe when I get my camera (who knows when that'll be...) I might put it when you first play the game. Or maybe I can put it as a poster in his office wall. ;D I dunno, I kinda planned to draw it because it was the first *wireframe* drawing I ever did. When I was done, I looked like an anatomy picture, so I started making up descriptions. I'm wierd like that. *Wireframe- For those who don't know, it's a style of drawing. Basically, the person drawing makes somewhat of a "skeleton" of the body. I guess you could say it's a guideline to drawing a figure.

Not bad, Tinbok. Not bad. If you do get your camera, go ahead and use this as a dialogue portrait in your game. However, that may mean you'd have to make more portraits for your other characters. Just do what you want to do. I'm just saying that it would be pretty cool to have that as a portrait in your game.

Hehe, thanks much everyone! ;D Link05~ Yeah, that's true. I wouldn't mind though, I love drawing. I do it when I'm bored. Plus I love to give my bro a little competition... Anyways, I hope to get a camera soon. Maybe Doan could have a camera contest giveaway... (just kidding ;D) I might get a camera soon though. I sure would love to use my pictures in my game.

Well, once we start getting enough clicks so that the cash is rolling in ( had to throw that in there), we'll be having cash prizes for the contests, and those can be used for whatever you want.

I just want to remind everyone of the message at the top of the main page, in case you or anyone else missed it. Clicks on the message board ads give me nothing, but clicks on the ads on my site bring in the dough...

i guess ill play critic...
something about the feet i dont like. and im not a fan of the color scheme. other then that, not bad. however, these are the kind of details to your game, that, the player will, in all honesty, never miss. (wow that sentence was proliferated w/ commas) they are the things that will give it flavor and detail, allow you to build a real world, but are unnecessary to the final product, they, like the foundation to a house, make it look that much better when its not even seen. id strongly suggest that you not try to incorporate this into your game, as its mostly just concept work, and it... well, im sure you get the point.

Yeah, I didn't care about the feet too much. I focused a lot of my critizism on his arms being too short. I hate it because I drew it and it looked fine. When I was done I like it but I noticed his hands only reached the top of his pelvis. Oh well, thanks for the feedback everyone. I always appreciate any critizism given because now when you said something, his feet are a little wierd huh. ;D

I'll bet you can come pretty close to this with one of the character models and some VFX add-ons for the designs. And, yeah, this is the kind of thing I never did. I do remember that whole 1.25 year of having my characters fully developed but having no idea what they'd look like.

Hehe, yeah. ;D Sometimes I get so bored I don't know what to do with myself, so... I start drawing. I came up with my main character out of boredom. Believe me, my very first drawing of my main character was dreadful. (shivers). But yeah, it would take a while but I could draw symbols using the VFX editor. Maybe when I'm bored, I'll take it into consideration. ;D

i dont know that i would suggest you do. it would probably take alot of memory, and in honesty, be all but unnoticed by the player. id maybe stick to color scheming, and detailing your gaming world. those are going to be far more noticed then how pretty your main character looks. also, if you put this kind of detail into your main character, it will be expected of most other game essentials, as well.

Yeah, that is true. It would also take some time as well. I wouldn't think of the symbols on his hands and feet... that is really, really hard to do. So I dunno.
By the way, does anyone here know if the images taken by a camera with the PP feature takes as much memory as an in-game snapshot? If so, then screw the camera. Because I already spent too much memory doing other things, so... yeah, I need as much memory as I can.

I would say that a photo would take at least as much memory, if not more. Unless the quality was really bad, in which case why even bother. So, I say forget the camera and stick to using the memory for more important things.

It's pretty much best to just never use the digital camera thing, sorry to say.
