Perplexion? Well, I make up words when I get confused.
As a few folx know, I am trying to make the custom abilities for my game these past few days. I have a few general questions about the ability editor itself.
This relates to my system for gaining new abilities as well.
It involves Enable as Random Ability and Enable Random Effect. My goal is to have, as an example, the ability "Belch 1" available at level zero and "Belch 2" available at level 10. I wanted to have Belch 2 begin showing up as a random ability at level 5 (halfway to getting the ability) with the percent chance increasing as you approach level 10 (when you get the ability). I think this would give a sense of improving slowly as a spell caster instead of the "all-at-once-ness" of just awarding new abilities in most games. After the random ability is called I could display a "you gettin' better" message.
Would I be better off just adding a level check, sort, and a few more commands to "Belch 1" or using the random effect bit in the ability editor?
The only problem with both of these is that I have no idea which is better or where to start.
But I like the notion, and given the flexibility of RPGM2, it should be possible.
