I've read awhile back on making your main character invisible during a cut scene and making an event to act as the main character. My question is can you do this without fading out the screen. I mean I think it would a little funny having the character disappear and then suddenly reappear a second later.
Or is there something I'm overlooking, because I sometimes like to have the game go right into a cut scene without fading out. I think it gives more drama to the game.

What you need to do is more the party to the place there the event that will replace the party is. You can gather the party so that only the leader will appear if necessary. If the party doesn't need to move, then turn the party leader to face the same direction as the event (even if you're sure the leader should be facing the correct direction, you should do this just to be sure. Try every possible way to activate the event to be really sure.
Note that bypass objects should be on so that the party won't interact with the event. If you're using the invisible party trick to more the camera around, you'll probably want the party's bypass objects on anyway.
Then turn on the event image first and turn the party invisible second. This way these will be no noticeable switch between the two.
I hope that works for you.

he is basicly try to say is make a char with no model or is fully transparent then put the event that will take over in the same spot as the char is but dont give the event a model. then replace the party member with the party member with out a model then the apply together script and change the event model to look like your main char
(dont forget to bypass or you will get on something and can't move ex: a table in the way)
(im sorry is this is not accurate i have nont played rm2 in a while and sorry for they way this is posted is also been a while)
