I'm thinking that it will require alot of sorting. But just fairly complicated to keep track of.

Wait, You can't make a Harvest Moon type game. There are no cows! Moo! Seriously, There are plants and animals (but no cows) so it wouldn't be hard at all to design a farming game. Scripting might take a while, but it talks a lot of scripting to do anything with RPG Maker 2. A clock and weather system wouldn't be hard to program, so go for it!

Yeah there aren't any cows unless you make them in vfx editor. The clock and weather system will require action scripts and content script for a system event

I just had to post something with all this talk of cows going on, so I'll point out a little "secret" about RPGM2 and cows: If you set the "Booing" sound effect to a pitch of -12 it makes a reasonably convincing MOO!
And I hope you like how I chose to use it.
Tiny little demo coming Sunday.
Anyway, I never saw or heard of Harvest MOOn, but if I wanted to make a Farming Mini Game I would use a "Time Lapse" technique to simplify the clock and etc.
It might be fun to "grow" things. Placing VFX fruit on trees would be simple. Little Apples which start off green and grow to large and red would be a place to start.
Back to the world of dreams...

been there, done that, but when you think about it, RPGM2 kinda has the perfect graphics for a harvest moon game

Yes it does. Though the only vegetable I noticed was a turnip, which is the cheapest one in pretty much all the Harvest Moons. When I make my weather script a bit better I will post it to the common script database. For my game I just have it to make the game a bit more realistic, as the weather really won't affect much gameplay wise. Right now all my maps, have a weather script, time script, and custom camera script, and each map remembers the setting from the other one. For my weather script right now it's pretty much a 4/11 chance of sunny day, 3/11 chance of being slightly overcast, 2/11 chance of light rain, 1/11 chance of rain, and 1/11 change of a thunderstorm. Eventually I will add in fog (which is automatically added when it rains), and have the weather progression be based on the previous weather, and have it calculate every 1/4 day, instead of every day.
For the farming though, unfortunately there are not many farming tools, but that could be faked, and a blue firework effect would look good for watering. You would just have to find a way to make the ground change color.
