Hey you guys, I'm new to the whole RPG maker and I was wondering if you guys could give me some information on making cut scenes. Like in the Fu-ma game (the premade one on the disc) the game starts out in a cut scene. If you guys could tell me what scripts to use or a general knowledge that would be appreciated

First things first, make an Auto Event, that means the event will automatically start the holding script. Put in the commands you want in the holding script of the event. Then place that event in the desired dungeon or map. Then make sure that You have everything together in the World Organization. But first I reccomend messing around with everything, then come back with more detailed descriptions of what you need help with so we can pin point what your having trouble with.
And welcome to the boards!

It's easiest to just use one variable for all your linear cutscenes, like this: Script Branch: Condition: custom variable [Story] = 3 (cutscene script commands go here) Data: Variable: [Story] = 4 + 0 Condition End Anyways, the general way I would go about it is, first, doing Doan's method of putting the screen fade-in in an Action Script of an Event that will be placed in every Event Placement, thus your Auto Event scripts will go before the screen fade-in. If you didn't understand that, you're not quite ready to start making your cutscene(s): go to www.doanthenado.com/guides.html and follow through Doan's 'World Creation Guide' before trying. Otherwise, the general set-up I do is 1) place the events you will be using in that World Organization's Event Placement 2) set the camera to what you in the script, 3) time the fade-in in the script, 4) make the whole cutscene, 5) time the fade-out in the script, 6) add the proper music for building mood throughout the cutscene script, and 7) turn on flags to remove events used in cutscene and alter [Story] variable at the end of the cutscene script.
