I'm making a script. Whenever in a battle dungeon there are coins that you can pick up (like mario, except worth actual money) and I have two problems.
1) When you go to pick it up since its a touch event the game stalls for a few frames until the coin finally evaporates. I want the game to be able to move like just pick it up and go.
2) Whenever you leave the room and come back the coin reappears and I don't want that. I know there are variables, but I am using the game event for these coins and I want to be able to permenantly remove it once picked up without the other ones of the same event disappearing as well.
Is there anything? I got down what I want so far. It makes a coin noise and its hops up above you're head to show that you picked it up.

Sounds like it's a touch event.
Make it an "equals" event and apply bypass members to it's action script.
Fixed!
EDIT:
Oh yeeah, Flags or event pages for keeping them gone!
Make a new page with no event model. that will keep the event there, but invisible.

1) You could use an action script that uses a flag to check if the coin has been picked up or not. That way, the game wil not stop and the event can dissapear.
2)You will have to use a flag for every coin as far as I know. If you are doing what I suggested above, you could use the same flag from above.

Maybe I'll just use that event for missions. Like I have books that are opened when you choose to read them, but they only work on missions and are not able to be read when no mission is available.

I have a coin event in my game, heres how it works. it starts on a page with content and a script that switches a coin flag, when the flag is switched, the page changes to a null event.(no mdl action event etc.) however, what you seem to want is a coin that you pick up by walking through. for that, make it an equal event and give it this action script: Events: Bypass Members: Yes
that should work the way you want. also, don't worry about your flags, I have a nice formula I just put up to compress them into a variable. This is the link.
