When your scripts start to get monstrously huge, start breaking them down into separate scripts.
I just created one really big script tonight, and the game froze. Fortunately, I could still exit from play testing and was able to fix it by separating all of the commands into different scripts.
And seeing as how there are a lot of newcomers to RPG Maker 2 on, just a friendly bit of advice.
If your scripts freeze, most likely, they're too long.

Heh, yep, my enemy check script is about 300 lines long, im thinking about shorting it, I don't know, good advice though, cause scripts get hefty, .......Like that!

I don't think it'd be from the size of the script, more so than things happening at once, or maybe trying to force rpgm2 to do something it can't handle. but that's me. my biggest script is 800 lines long, but it isn't really fully used, it's just a huge checking system.

Yeah, I see what you mean.
Like, for instance, the script I was making was to update the church in the Cutscene Workshop. As you may well guess, I needed to make a script that was around 100 lines long. Since all of this was taking place at once, it crashed.
Still, it's a smart idea to separate a large script into different sections. This keeps it organized and lets you pinpoint problems in it better.

yes. it's easier to read a few lines than a whole wall of code.
