is there a script command, or series of script commands i can use to make the players charicter move "foward" in a cutscene, without knowing what direction they are facing?
i ask this because the only way i know of to move the player is the memeber > movement > (forget command name) command
and i need to be able to have them move foward a certain distance, in whatever direction they are currently facing without having to specify the direction i want them to move. (they will already be facing the desired direction when they trigger the cutscene, i just need to figure out how to get them to move foward without knowing the direction.)

I don't think so, I think you'll have to do
Game Info > Load SB: Sort: Variable [Party Direction] SB: Apply If +0 Move Party E SB: To End SB: Apply If +1 Move Party SE SB: To End SB: Apply If +2 Move Party S SB: To End SB: Apply If +3 ... SB: To End SB: Apply If +7 Move Party NE SB End (this statement should appear when you put the "SB: Sort" command)
That should do it.

Heh, beat me too it The direction variable (if you press start on it), you'll see that it goes in a clockwise direction, starting with East. What I posted may not have helped alot, as it became obvious once Doan posted it, but if you can remember that, doing conditions with party directions becomes alot easier

wow that really helps but one curious question what does SB mean? and im assuming the party direction variable is one of those default variables that pop up every so often that are oh so useful in the rare instances that they are needed.
