I came up with something earlier, and I'm willing to let someone else use it. I'd use it myself, but I've got too many projects to create already, and I don't need more stuff floating around in my head. It's not a whole lot, just a quick description of the villain's and heroes' involvement in the story. A paragraph about as long as this one. If anybody's interested, tell me here and I'll send a PM, as a couple details I jotted down would be spoilers for anybody who I don't give the details to. Nothing huge, just something one wouldn't find out until later in the game.

maybe you should save it for the group project going on?

Why don't you just save it in word or something then go back to it when you have time?

That'll be...never. I've got this game for RPG Maker that I'm working on, I'm wanting to get started on Thief of Magic for RPGM2 sometime, I'm hoping to eventually get back to work on Something Stupid IX, Jester's Hunt 3D (announced quite some time ago but never made much progress) eventually has to be made, I've got a game I want to create starring cartoon mice with Lode Runner-like gameplay, and I've got Slayers' Reign, which happens to be by far the biggest project I want to tackle out of all of these.
Eh, doesn't matter now. I've already lost interest in that idea I came up with, so I probably won't have to worry about suddenly getting ideas for it (which in turn would require that I work on it). It might work for the group project, but I don't see myself getting involved in anything like that.

You don't really have to get involved in it. You can just post some idea you weren't gonna use and the other people will use or not use what you put and that could be it (that's what I've done so far).

I don't know how I could get involved.
And I can't just post it for everyone to see, as the idea already included the plot twist. Although, maybe not a twist, but something the player wasn't supposed to find out until later in the game.

Okay, I sent it to you.
I'm not sure, but I think I was onto something with that idea. Not sure how many others could come up with that, since I haven't played too many RPGM games. It took roughtly 15 minutes of pacing back and forth to come up with. (I come up with ideas better when I pace around than when I'm just sitting in my chair, for some reason.)

i like it. i think that with some slight modification it would fit into the corraborated project, but i almost think itd be a better lone project, for reasons obvious to you already. anyways, id really like to see a game done like this. i think that maybe you should come back to it in a couple of week, or if your current work goes stale, because the different flavor would be interesting. if not, i may find a use for it, if its writing a story or something. (id like to do a game, but i already have one slated right now. maybe later?)

I don't think there's any chance of myself doing anything with it. All my other stories that I want to get working on are already fleshed out, at least partially, so they'll be the first to be dealt with.

I never had problems coming up with stories, its not too hard when all your ideas are just spoofs of the popular games and movies out there.

I think if you sit down and really try to work on a story, you'll come up with something good. Everyone has the capability for this. It's just that some people are either not interested or too lazy to try this.

I just consider what I liked about other stories, then try to make something unique with those elements.
I ended up almost completely changing my story because I realized some elements of another rpg's story I wanted to use in mine.

I think taking pieces of elements from games/literature/movies could be a good idea to an extent.
It should make sense and you shouldn't have too many of those elements, because it will look like you clipped a bunch of different people's ideas into pieces and glued them back together.

Agreed. Some is okay, but too much is definitely v e r y detrimental, and it's a lot easier to reach that point than one would first imagine.
