Congratulations.
You've discovered the reason people play games in the first place.
If it ever stops being fun, I'll stop doing it. I do not think that just because something can be frustrating, it can't be fun too. Try playing chess.
As for vanity... well, I like to quote Zaphod Beeblebrox (the two-headed, three-armed ex-head-honcho of the entire galaxy) and say "If there's anything more important than my ego around here, I want it found and shot immediately!"

Sounds good. That's the best feeling you get from RPGM2, satisfaction with what you've created. I'm getting the same feeling, now that my first city is complete after a lot of work.

Now you fully understand the power of RPG Maker!! Whenever I make a cool VFX Character or vehicle, and it actually interacts with my in game characters, I get a nice feeling of achievement.

That's it? Your CBS is half done? Couldn't you at lease tell us that your CBS is like? I don't mean to sound annoyed but you could go into a little more detail about what you're doing. The fact that your CBS is half done isn't really very interesting. P.S. Hey, all the cool emoticons are back.

The fact that your CBS is half done isn't really very interesting. ok now to answer this (which im sorry I did'nt get to read sooner) my cbs is not a cbs at all but an sbs (secondary battle system) I have decided not to scrap the dbs(i may look into modding it a bit) but create a differant kind of battle system for certain situations in the game(Sword of nations[working title]) it will be a martial arts type system, based on the principals of MIND BODY HEART SPIRITMIND: this is your wit and mental awareness as well as your overall strategy skill. BODY: represents overall physical training and knoledge of moves(for lack of a better word) HEART: all about the passion and the fury and attacking like an animal. SPIRIT: strength of spirit determins chi strength these skills can be trained in differant ways throughout the game world or not used at all(basicly if you want to be a martial artist in the game you have that choice) so I geuss thats an overview of the SBS (in philosophical terms anyway if you want technical details you will have to ask)

I know that feeling man, Hippy Hunt 2 is the perfect example, the scenes from where Dean pisses on a plant, to firing a RPG-7, to jumping off a water fall, now I know that I can achieve anything in my imagination on this thing. The rest of the cinematics were pretty out there "in my book". Anyways I am glad you made a topic on something like this.

As some may know, I got a new PS2 a couple of days ago. So, I've been playing around with RPG Maker 2 a lot lately (and playing a lot of Medal of Honor: European Assault. Fun game, btw).
So, as I did random stuff on it (making a battle system, character models, etc.), I felt like I could do just about anything. I could totally rewrite the DBS until my heart's content. I could make a medieval-looking character look more modern and vice-versa. I can make my game look and feel like the type of game I want to create.
For the first time since I've started playing this game, I felt like I had the full capabilities to create the game I always dreamed of. Now, all I can think of is creating my dream game, and with these capabilities, that dream is very possible.
That feeling that builds up in your heart is one of the greatest feelings you can feel when making your game. And that feeling (along with well-thought out ideas and hard work) will drive you to create your dream game.
