Hey all it's been way too long since I've had a chance to discuss everything RPGM..I hope the holidays are going well for all.. Anyways, I picked up this intersting software package called "Comic Book Creator"..The software gives you comic book type templates to use for any kind of digital imaging, which includes, gameplay clips,DVD movies,Photos, and more.. It cost me like $20.00 in my local EBGames.. Now for me personally, I'm crazy about my game(which has been halted temporarily)and the characters involved, so when I get sometime, I'll see about making a short comic strip of my game..Comics are another great love of my life.. I know Dungeon Warden was working on a comic strip of his own if I'm correct, so this might be of some interest.. You can find more info on this site.. www.planetwidegames.com

Working on a comic? I have over 100 pages up now. I even added an archive list so it's easier to find an old page.
I'll check out the program. If it's not to hard to use, I may buy a copy myself.

This is definitely a cool find. I have one question though, how do you get those really high-quality pictures in it? They look like PS2/X-Box/GC graphics!

I'm on the slow 'puter this morning, so I didn't watch the video tutorials. But there was one about screenshots.
I can't tell if it has a video capture device (even if it only captures individual frames) or if it would be "sold separately."
Either way you'll need one.
If it comes in the box, it's a great deal.
If not... well, It's a rip off. That can all be done just as easily in MS Paint.
People like my screenshots and the only image processing software for them I use is MSPaint (Capturing is different from processing).
I do, however, love the concept!
I may make a quick comic in MSPaint just to show what a rip off this would be without a capture device.
Great Find regardless! I can see where people who do not like the clumsy, but effective, interface of MSPaint would think this is $20 well spent.
Peace.

Like I mentioned DW, I haven't been around as often as I like so I haven't seen your work in a while.. As a capture device it comes with a program called "Flap"..It takes screenshots. But the most useful feature is how it implements a drag and drop of whatever pics you have on your computer or camera. I'm sure for some it might be useless but for others it's another program dedicated to fun and entertainment.

I tried out the demo. It's not a bad program, but it doesn't have any actual drawing tools. You have to make the pages elsewhere and then import them into the program. It does make word balloons and boxes easy to put over images which is great, but with out any actual drawing tools it's not the best program out there. This is.Manga Studio 3.0 has all the import and dialogue balloon features as Comic Book Creator but it also has a full feature artists pallet as well, including a wide range of toners for that true manga comic style. It seems to be limited to black and white artwork, but that's my preferred style anyway. It's not out yet, so Comic Book Creator will do for now. However, I think I'll save my money and get Manga Studio 3.0 when it comes out.

As a capture device it comes with a program called "Flap"..It takes screenshots. Just as a point of interest... If you are using windows you do not need a piece of software to take a screenshot. Just press alt + Print Screen (prt scrn). Then open MS Paint and Paste. It's that simple. This even works when you are viewing "Protected" images. I was referring to capturing the video from the PS2. for that you need Hardware (the Device I mentioned) not Software. If you still need an outside means of getting the images on to the computer, then I'd have to vote Pass. There is just too much stuff already on the machine that does all that this program seems to do. You can make your own page template and balloon templates and keep them all in a separate folder or just open them all while working. But again, that's just me. I understand people wanting tools to keep them from having to do all that themselves. Peace.

You might what to try the demo before you criticize the program too much, Rodak. It does a few more things then just drop words on pictures. For instance it allows you to format the pages in anyway you want which makes designing a comic page much easier then trying to do the same thing in a word processor. The balloons are also easy to resize and change on the fly, so for people who plan on making a comic, the program is very useful. Plus there are several templates that can speed design as well. Try the demo and see for yourself.
