I keep hearing people talk about VFX and all the things they make with it. What is it? What can you do with it? Where in RPG Maker 2 is it?
Once and for all, I'm finally going to try and learn what variables are. If someone could give me an example and an explanation of what they do, it would help me out a lot. Also, input variables. I don't get them either.
Thanks in advance.

I keep hearing people talk about VFX and all the things they make with it. What is it? What can you do with it? Where in RPG Maker 2 is it? Click the link in my signature for a preview of the upcoming VFX Guide due out in just a few days!! As for what can be done with it: Once and for all, I'm finally going to try and learn what variables are. If someone could give me an example and an explanation of what they do, it would help me out a lot. Also, input variables. I don't get them either. Dungeon Warden's FAQ explains all the preset variable functions well. In general a variable is a place to store a number. like those hated X's and Y's in Algebra. They are called variables because they can have a varying value. Think of the character's money. It is tracked by and kept equal to a variable internally. Each time you get or lose money it adds or subtracts to that variable and when it needs to see how much money you have it checks that specific variable. Ya didn't think it kept real gold in there did you? The numbered variables are for you to do whatever you want with. As for Inputs, they are variable text strings. They are used when you want to do something like let the player name his own character. I hope that helps. Peace. <><><> EDIT: <><><> HOLY CRAP!! I forgot to remind you to go vite in my VFX Tutorial poll in the Creative Development Forum here and other sites too! VOTE! Peace.
