YAY!!!!! One of my friends is giving me a free computer (its old and a piece of crap but it has internet) and I talked my mom into paying for internet!!!!! Everyone should be happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can get myself a crappy old computer anytime, but why would I when I've got the awesome power of my T1 connection at school and work?

Thats right(maybe) but still I might have ran into a problem with the computer beiing so crappy it can't use DSL and my mom WILL ONLY get DSL, so I'm kinda worriedd now.... *sniff* I really want it, I've been working hard on LAD and I want to do a bunch of stuff....GRRRRRR, I don't care, I'll find a way to get the internet!!!!!! |

YAY!!!!!!!!!!! UPDATE!!!  My friend just e-mailed me back, and told me that it will be able to use DSL, so I'm all set to go! I'm going to pick it up realy soon(just a few days infact) I'm so happy, I haven't been this quisy stomach since I went to pick up my GCN on release date. Oh yeah, He also offered me a better one for only $50 dollars. He said it would also be able to do a little bit of gaming. I don't think I'll be able to afford it right now, but any way, I"M SO HAPPY, and now I'm all quisy again. I can't believe it! In my 15 almost 16 years of existence I'm about to get my first computer!!!!!!!! |

Crap! It may seem like I'm talking to myself (maybe I am, no your not fool! WTF whose talking to me!) but I just want to update. DAMN IT! He said I would have to buy a $50 router.
1)DOn't have a clue what a router is
2)If I HAVE to have one there may be more setbacks on me getting internet.....
*sighs* that happy feeling has left me.....

Glad to hear that zoradude. As for me I've been trying to build a custom computer, and i learned alot. It's really easy but i don't know the names to teh parts so i can get have a new cpu. OH well

A router allows you to connect several computers to the same modem so that they can all use the internet at the same time. You can still unplug one computer and plug the other in, but I think you'll want a router so you and your mother can use the internet at the same time.
Glad to here you have a new computer coming. Good luck finding the money to use it. :lol

Well I talked to the guy who wants to give me the free one and my mom and I found out my mom owes me $75!!!!!!  So the same guy said he had a really decent one for $60 with all your basic programs like word and excel blah blah blah. He said he would also install Norton for me for free and it has a CD burner in it. Any way he told me a router would keep hackers and viruses away so I would definatly need one. I would have to believe him to because he is the freakiin hugest nerd on the planet. DOes it make me mentaly ill if I want to be a nerd? Oh well! |

Get AIM, MSN, or YahooM so I can talk to ya man :-) Actually for now I have an MSN and I spend about 1 minute downloading messegar when ever I get on at the library, Like I did just a few minutes ago. I'm trying to come up with a better MSN and make a new account, but for now I'm using zorazollve. Damn the moron who signed up as zoradude!!!!!! |

Yeah thats it. But I have great news today! My mom gave me the $60 to pay for the computer!  She also said I don't have to pay her back, she is just giving me the money!!!!!! But I have one problem.... I'm getting the computer, the programs, the keyboard, the mouse, the speakers.... But no monitor....  But I might have a solution. I'm asking this girl I know at school.....what shes not my... SHUT UP!!!!! anyway she said she had this monitor that was spare and it worked and I just emaild her and I'm praying she'll give it to me. Heres exactly what I said: All right thanks... But I have to ask you something. About that spare monitor you have. CAN I PLEASE HAVE IT? PLEASE? I'll give you a hug or let you lick me*? PLEASE!!!!!!!! Go and pick up a Datel Max Drive for $30 bucks from most any game place. the X-Port is no longer supported, so stay away from it.

You should tell us exactly what kind of comp your getting. It may not have any USB ports. Which would suck, but if your getting a comp for free, you never know.

the computer itself has to have slots where you can plug USB devices into. if it doesn't, then you cannot use a max drive with it. it's the same ports that are in the blue area of the PS2.

don't worry though, regardless of what file transfer device you end up getting, there's a save file converter at the pavilion that turns max drives files into X port/Shark port files, and vice versa. so its not the end of the world if you cant get a max drive.

I was just thinking though that he's getting a comp for free it can't be that great of one. And if it's a few years too old he's not gunna have USB. Then again up to this year I use to have a friggen ancient computer and no internet. And I got that quite a few years ago before that and that was old when I got it. So yeah anything decent I think should get ya USB.

Ok, ok maybe I should just get a few things clear. I'm not getting a free computer. All the free one had on it was internet explorer. I paid $60 for a pretty good one and I know exactly what the USB outlet is, my computer (which is at home at the moment, my home, I still don't have internet yet.) has 4 of them. two in the back and two in the front. So there, I've explained my self fully...
But does my computer have to meet any critera to be able to use the X-port or whatever? Like certain things in it, or whatever. Plus does it have some sort of program I have to install? If so how many GB does it take up. My computer's Harddrive is mediocre with only 2.99 GB.... Pretty pathetic huh?
