That's pretty good. I taped them on Leno last week and I'll watch that again over a few times. Oh! You can do the pain solo . I wish I had an electric to do it on.

Could you recommend a good midi mixing program that's either freeware or shareware. Preferably one that'll let me hear my mix as I am making it.

here's the pain solo. it sucks cause this font doesn't line up, but oh well. p=pull off and b=bend

do you have the bottom string retuned, or are you typoing it every time. it should be 'e'

the guitar is drop-d tuned, meaning the 12th fret of the low e is tuned to sound like an open d. a lot of songs nowadays are tuned this way.

As for music that gives me ideas, and puts me in a creative mood, there are a few different types. I listen to some rap, and some country is decent but neither of them start up the creative part of my brain.
Sum 41's soung "Pieces" is a song that made me start thinking though, and so does a few of the Breaking Benjamin songs, both of them, (and a lot of others I haven't named that don't do it quite as much at the moment) make me think more of the "good" side of creation with heroes and motivation.
My favorite music though, helps me think on the "evil" side with evil-doers and battles. ;D Metal: Slipknot, KoRn, Godsmack, Adema, Papa Roach, etc.
Classical music, depending on the piece, can make both "good" and "evil" ideas get created. There's something in classical that makes it, generally, the best for creativity, even though I don't like it all that much.
Oh, and by the way, I don't like most of Sum 41's stuff, but "Pieces" really caught my attention and made me think of them as a good band, even though the other songs I heard sucked.
P.S. I used to play guitar all the time about four years ago. Got real good at "One Step Closer..." by Linking Park, and decent at some other songs. Didn't have time to keep it up though, unfortunately. Learned it all on notes, not tabs too.

In response to TFR's question. I'm not sure if this is what you had in mind, if it's not, then put in MIDI Mixer in [ftp]http://www.download.com[/ftp] and they should have some freeware. Unless you already found one.
