Hiyas,
Finally got the game yesterday and have been mostly playing the demo game and tinkering a bit.
From what it looks like, I don't think its possible to adjust how battles "look". For those of you that have played the Final Fantasy series, you know that battles are done while looking at both the charcaters and the enemies all at once. Dragon Warrior games (from loooong ago) used the same style that RPG Maker 2 seems to use. Personally, I can't stand this style and would rather go with the FF version *if possible*.
So, is it possible? I'm hoping that I'm missing something, as I haven't done a whole lot with the game. I'll look further into it later today, but I'd like to know if I'm wasting my time or not.
Thanks, Thrull

It is possible to fool the system into thinking you can see the party (you can find the full details in the article in my forum "Dungeon Games"); however, it is far from easy and requires some technical knowledge of scripting, preset variables, and coding. It is not some easy "turn on a switch and everything works" concept, this is a "mess with the way RPG Maker 2 works and make it do something it wasn't designed to do" type of thing. This means that even if you follow my instructions exactly, things can still get messed up and it can take a lot of work to find the problem.
Short answer: It can be done, but unless your technical skills are up to it I wouldn't try it - at least not until you've studied RPG Maker 2 to the point you can create complex functional scripts in your head.

RPGM3 seems to be better/easier for side-views battles.

Yeah, I looked into it. Looks like its beyond my skills at present. Ah well, more tinkering to do.
