I'M READY, I'M READY, I'M READY, I'M READY, I'M READY! I'm impatient..... So, I understand that customization is going to be low, but I also believe that many games are going to be made with it. Sure, many may look alot alike, but like everyone is saying, RPGM1 was much like this. This game is VISUALLY everything I wanted RPGM2 to be, but it is not as CUSTOMIZABLE (?) as I would like it to be, so for me, it kinda balances out, as i like working around stuff that you can't do in RPGM1, and I feel 3 will be like the same for me So, anyway, does anyone know about that Time Based or why is the bar by the health different sizes and colors?

it uses an ATB battle system. thats what the bar is for.
I hope battle animations can be used outside of battle.

If they don't, I probably won't make a single game for RPGM3

ATB like FF7/8 and X-2? either way, I'm definately picking up 3 Valk, if youd like, you can put up the demo of my zelda game on the pavilion. You'd have to download it yourself and upload it to yours though cuz I am transfer device less at the time being. Anywho, the things I would personally like to see is a transfer from one file to another while retaining ALL info. Sure it sounds hard to do, but i'm sure it could be done. I'd also like to see possible voices in the game. This isn't a must or anything, but it'd be cool . I'm not that picky, so that's all on my list.

To Me, being able to create your own systems and things is the greatest and I hate limits and woulf rather have it overly complex and confusing. Just takes more time to figure out, but is worth it. Yes. I would rather have RPG Maker 2 to use for the rest of my life than RPG Maker because with 2 I can make almost anything. Yes it'd take a while to make a worthwhile game(emphasis on worthwhile), but that just means I don't have to buy any other games to enjoy, as #2 has almost an infinite amount of replay value. With great power, comes needed preparation to properly wield that power. Power without the ability to control it is nothing. I know people who also had trouble using RPG Maker(it's hard to believe), and it was a baby's RPG Maker compared to #2. There's always gonna be people who aren't motivated to learn how to do great things, as they want to do them NOW. I can't blame them, but you can't be a legendary musician within 3 hours just by doing a few simple steps.

I completely agree with BloodKnight. I was hoping 3 would have even more customization options (if that's possible ) I had fun with RPGM1 but as soon as I started using RPGM2 I completely lost interest in it. I'm still not that great at making games on it, but I'm getting there, and even without the knowledge that most of the people have on this board with it, I am having A LOT more fun with it, than the original.

According to the official Agetec repersentive, If RPG Maker 3 sells well, there will be an RPG Maker 4 which is fully customizable. Agetec does read the forums and have noted the changes people have been asking for. RPG Maker 3 is being sold to encourage people to get involved in the RPG making community, not as a maker for the hardcore RPG Maker 2 gamers. Not to say RPG Maker 3 won't be enjoyable to play around with, only that ease of use was more important than customization. I look forward to seeing a review of the new game. It sounds like I can make the games I want without needing to do much customization, which would be great.

agetec never said that. it was just said that an upgrade to RPG Maker 2 might be on it's way. nothing was said about RPG Maker 4.

Do you mean an ungraded version of RPG Maker 2 wouldn't be called RPG Maker 4? I would think if they made a more customizable version they would give it a new number. Of course the note was kind of vague so it's hard to tell what he meant. I would hope that if they went to the trouble to make an updated version they would do more then make only a few changes to the current one. We'll just have to wait and see.

To be even more specific, Mark hopes that RPG Maker 3 will do great, so a proper sequel to RPG Maker 2 can be developed one day. A day which will live in RPG making infamy.

Well, RPGM3 looks like a perfect base for me to explore other story routes.
A sequel to Light Warrior will not be on this one though.

I have plans lined up, but NO sequels to my original idea: OrBit. What I plan on doin is like transferring games i made previously, whether from rpgm2 or 1, and re build them on 3. Why? because i think it'd be cool

Though exciting, this game could be as disapointing as fighter maker 2. If I cant customize or color character models, I dont really see how any games of ours can be innovative and original, even in rpgm1 you can make your own sprites, I just hope this game has at least just as much to offer as rpgm2. If you look closely during the battle demo video (video five) you can see a color change option at 0:18 on the "Class Editor" screen. The box directly above the character has a paint pallet in the box. I am only assuming here, but it looks like the character image will be customizeable. I only hope each color can be altered, and it not be like the RPGM2 object editor where you can only alter the hue.
Also, I just realized the video links had miss-labeled URLs. Oops my bad, I've since fixed them.

Thats good then, and I'm fine with the way the dbs looks, in fact, I think it looks kickass! but still, I pray for a vfx editor, even rpgm1 had a vfx editor(a lame one tho.)

Swordkata posted this link at the agetec forum. www.the-magicbox.com/0410/game041003c.shtmlOn the second page you'll see that there is indeed a VFX editor. What I'm wondering about is what is this 'customizable music' they speak of.

And where do you see that? I mean, an ACTUAL editor for visual effects? All I see is(on page two):
-The player looking at 2 hot statues in a dungeon. -The player going through a terribly dull looking area. -What seems to be an "entity placement" editor. -A nice view, with a rainbow and such(probably to show off the increased drawing distance). -Another incredibly dull looking area with a jail cell, some dialogue and a pic of a bird guard like thing...guy. -The party getting hit with a large lightning spell(seems too excessive).

BloodKnight is correct, not one of the images on the-magicbox's site contain an image of a VFX editor. One image does show a battle where I am assuming a VFX is used, but whether these effects can be made/customized or if we are stuck with the defaults I am unsure.
For a glimpse into what one person discovered while playing an import of this game please check out these posts from the Pavilion by a member there named Alhen Duvas.
Post One Post Two
According to him there is no VFX editor, only options to choose from. Let us hope he was incorrect.

Hey all, it's been awhile..I'm glad my alter -ego(swordkata) had some usefulness with that link to Magic boxes site. Personally, the VFX in RPGM2 "IS" my game! Without it it would be unoriginal and boring. Some of the best characters you will come to love and hate will be VFX created. So I hope there will be a VFX creator in RPGM3, or I will suffer great dissapointment. I also hope there will be modern/future tile sets, as most of my games will be Sci-fi based. Also any hints of an actual camera being used? The behind the shoulder deal gets pretty boring looking after a while?
Now whats this I hear about an upgrade for RPGM2?? Can some tell me this in detail? Will it be the same game but with improvements?(future tiles sets maybe?), maybe a more intensive tutorial?

Yeah, me too, but I'm hopin' that it was by some chance just 'missed' and there is a vfx editor.

Well he did say you could select from a bundle of pre-made effects(and that you couldn't make your own)...so I'd assume the worst.
