It's been in the news, and is also an up-and-coming reality TV show. Nanny Fran made a show living it up and now there are multiple site, mags and blogs devoted to it. What am I talking about?
Cougars. The term used to describe and older woman that seeks a younger man.
Not so commonplace, or at least not very publicized, this type of relationship is not well known about, although often fantazied I'm sure.
What about you? Given our overly male majority here, I want to ask what you think about a younger man dating a woman that is noticably older than he. And would date a woman older than you, would you be the prey to a cougar?
And to our few females in the group (I fear its only christi) what are your thoughts on this subject.
Personally I prefer a woman with a little more life experence than my own.

Haha, interesting topic, TFR. I'd be "prey" to any woman who is 40 or younger, if she's hot. ;D

Well, if she was older than me by 8 years or lower, I guess so. Any age higher than that, no. Our generation would be way off.

And to our few females in the group (I fear its only christi) what are your thoughts on this subject. I have a feeling you're right, TFR, but hey... I'm always happy to represent my demographic. I've always stayed in the two-year range myself as well. When you're a teenager, age differences are a lot more noticable than they are when you're in your twenties. For example, a twenty-nine year old woman with a twenty-three year old man would be perfectly acceptable, while a a nineteen year old girl with a thirteen year old boy would be, well... basically illegal. Even though they're both teenagers, the age gap would be enormous because they'd be at such different places in their lives. The summer after my high school graduation, I dated a guy who was just getting ready to start his junior year. We had quite a bit in common, personality-wise, and we actually weren't far off in age at all (I was seventeen and one of the youngest in my class; he was sixteen and one of the older ones in his.) We had pretty much a perfect summer together, but once I started college and he started his junior year, all of the sudden, everything changed, and to make a long story short, it ended up not working out at all. Had we both been out of school, though, I'm sure it would have been completely different. (I never did had a chance to test this theory out, though... I got engaged when I was nineteen.) At any rate, my standpoint is that the older you get, the less age differences matter, regardless of whether it's the woman that's older or the man. As long as you're both at relatively the same place in your life, I think that all that matters is that you're happy.
