Lately, all i've been able to think about is working with RPGM3. I know I'll never ditch RPGM2, but just the look of the games I make with 3 are.... mesmorizing, I can't seem to put much time into RPGM2, and I dont like the thought of that. Somebody know any tips on how to let go of RPGM3 just a little bit so I can finish my games, and such? Like slapping me with a ruler to make me focus? Maybe its just the drive of 'i want to know what this thing can do' that's keeping me going on RPGM3. I in all honesty, didn't think I'd use it as much as I do, but look now, I've made roughly 3 hours of game play, made 4 enemies, 7 people, 4 classes, 30 items, 1 map, 1 town, 8 houses, and yeah, I've used RPGM2 maybe only 2 hours since I've gotten 3. The first step is admitting you have a problem

You're just caught up in the newness of it all. Give it some time. Once you've tried everything RPGM 3 has to offer you'll be begging to get back to the unlimited potential of RPGM2.

I have said since long before we got it that RPGM3 would be a one game wonder for me.
That word Wonder is key.
Yes, it will be great for one game, but the "replay" value of this game will be very low. After creating a single game I am convinced that I will have hit nearly everything the game is capable of doing.
RPGM2 has infinite replay value.
So a short break to use a new toy is excusable.
But I saw a copy of RPGM2 used on the shelf at the store recently and seriously thought about buying it as a back up in case anything ever happens to my current disc.
Then I thought that I might be depriving us of our next genius member and left it there.
The point is that I have never, ever, had such thoughts when I see a game I already own before. That's how much I like RPGM2.
Peace.

Well simple..Give it sometime and wonder how unique(sarcasm inserted here) your character will look like. How awesome your fields and dungeons will look.Think of the uniqueness..think of all the unique effect you can make and that gorgeous cutscene.. If you swallowed that, it won't be long till your back to RPGM2.. I personally haven't played RPGM3 much since the day I got it..I know how much my game will look like everyone elses, and I lost interest.. Sad......

Unless your having Adventurer as your main character and are off slaying dragons, then yeah, alot of games may be the same.......
BUT, me and 2 friends all picked up RPGM3, and so far all 3 of our games are tottally different. There is really no similarities at all.

BUT, me and 2 friends all picked up RPGM3, and so far all 3 of our games are totally different. There is really no similarities at all. Except in your VFX (I'll wager). And Music. And I think more will emerge. The extreme difficulty in making mini games or puzzles work means that fewer games will have any of these at all and they are a big part of what makes RPGM2 games unique. Everybody seems to find a new and different idea for this aspect of game creation. With 3 the only mini games I have heard anyone say they have finished and working all involve those damned levers. I tried making a "3 Card Monte" type game with storyteller... it was working, but boring. No fun at all. I'll have to come up with something really silly to make the concept worthy of use. I still like 3, but as I said before, it is not even a pale shadow of a turd dropped by RPGM2. Peace.

Well, while VFX, interiors, town basic structures, and possibly some dungeons will look alike, everything else will have to be compensated by creativity and other stuff. Me, my bigger bro, and my littler bro are all working on a game, and even though the VFX and town layouts/interior layouts look the same at start, adding objects and people definately make a huge difference. I personally think that maps would be hard to look alike. You can edit the height fairly well, the maps can be a simple 10 second one, to a 10 minute one (with use of water and object obstructions). My opinion is that I think no one should abandon RPGM2, but they also shouldn't disclude RPGM3 either, or not entirely anyway. Any hoo, last night and today I've only piddled with RPGM2, working on my farm sim game (which some of you know from the pavilion boards), and haveta say, I do infact love the capabilities of RPGM2, if not more! *hugs all 3 RPGMs* These games are probably my favorite ones of all, dont know what I'd do had I not considered 'what would it be like to create your own world with it's own rules'

The novelty of a new RPGMaker is wearing off.
I keep losing interest and picking up RPGM2.
I'll finish the game on which I am working because I hate leaving things unfinished, but it may not be up to my standards.
Sure, it will be rude and discourteous (gotta get that stuff outta my system somewhere), and it will be silly, but it just can't seem to hold my interest.
It is too simplified for my taste.
New Toy Syndrome lasted roughly 2 weeks!
I guess I am a control freak when it comes to My Art (and I consider this a form of Art). There is just not enough control here for my taste.
It took less time than I thought it would to wear thin.
Peace.

I just did 3 story teller sequences in RPGM3.... then I was craving to make a cinematic in RPGM2 (to even my cinematic apitite out..) and made a new cinematic for my game Josaigdan.
It was the best most out of this world cinematic I have done in RPGM2.
That is all.
