I have been having real problems with my Internet Service Provider.
Intermittent Service has been driving me nuts.
High Speed is great, but I have problems getting connected!
I could barely get online for the last few days, so I got a free trial with a dial up.
It works fine, but I had forgotten how slow these connections are!
I usually post in these forums while doing other things, but now it slows me down too much.
I really hope they fix this...
At least it works every time.
Service Appointment Tomorrow for the High Speed.
We shall see what happens...

If it helps, I've found cable to be way faster and more reliable than dsl. Anyways, good luck! We like you here.

I am on cable!
That's why I'm so mad.
It's supposed to be always on!!!
Grrrr.
They agreed to credit my bill, but I would rather have reliable slow connections than "inconsistent, but blazing fast when they work" connections.
Ugh.

Mine is inconsistent at times, too, but I think that has something to do with my wireless router or networking card, rather than actually being a problem with the company, although there are occasional downtimes.
Whenever I go home and I'm at my girlfriend's house, she has dialup, and it is almost nauseating to waste so much time just sitting there waiting for pages to open up.

My modem has a series of lights that indicate connectivity status.
They all light up when connected even if the PC is not plugged in!
I have no indicator on the modem, so the problem is theirs!
Worse yet, the intermittent nature of it means that when the service people showed up it was fine!
2 hours later, Out Again!!
Grrrr
WOOF!

Wow!
It is working this morning.
I can go back to doing more than one thing at a time!
At least for now.
I do a lot of work on the web and the forum play has always been an aside to keep the work from being boring.
But on dial-up it was impossible to even download a large file and still browse without getting disconnected!
I can't believe the length of this recent outage!
They credited my bill for a week, but it still sucks and I am considering switching despite the speed loss if I do.
I told the Cable Company that they should offer dial-up back up servers so when these all too frequent outages occur, I still have an option!
It wont work, but I had to say something.
