This is probably a really easy fix, but one I haven't been able to figure out, for some reason...
One of the first things that I did in my game was create a weather script. as the first part of my game called for rain. I attached it to an event, and placed it on my mainland. I set up a flag and condition that caused the weather to improve slightly after the player enters and exits the first building in the game; the same script also causes the background music to change to something more suited for the more favorable weather. (Keep in mind, if you will, that this is all occurring on the same world map.)
This always executed fine, until one day when I decided that the two islands which comprised the mainland needed to be farther apart in order to make my story more plausible (one of the characters hasn't been to the bigger of the two islands since he was little, which didn't seem very logical; as the islands were practically on top of each other at first.) So, I copied and pasted the smaller of the two islands, along with it's subsequent events, to a more appropriate location (still on the same world map) and then deleted the original smaller island. When I went in to test play this, all of my events still executed perfectly, but there was no longer any weather conditions. I checked to make sure that I hadn't neglected to paste the weather event, and sure enough, it was right where it needed to be. I played around with it for quite awhile, and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work any more. I hadn't changed any scripts at all; it executed perfectly right before I changed the location of the map... and after that, it stopped working.
At any rate, moving the island was the only change I'd made to the game that day, and it wasn't too hard to do, so I just reset the game and didn't save changes. I went back into test play; the weather script was working perfectly. Just as an experiment, I went into the "Event Placement" editor, and moved the weather script over by about an inch. (I believe I tried accomplishing this two ways, the first time copying and pasting it, and deleting the original... the second time deleting the original initially and placing it again, an inch over.) Both of these resulted in the event not executing correctly in test play.
So, once again, I played around with it, and couldn't get it to work, so I did the only other thing I could think of... deleted the event, and all of it's corresponding scripts, and started over from scratch.
And now, even though all of the old scripts and events are deleted, and I've completely built a new weather script the same way the first one was built... it STILL won't work!
Screen Effect: Weather (Rain) Strength = 100%
The event starts at "Auto" and applies the proper script.
It's about the least complex script in my game, but I have no idea what's wrong with it... any ideas?
