I don't if any of you subscribe or read Game Informer, but the latest issue had the biggest bombshell I have ever read.
In their rumor section they announced that the rumor of a Final Fantasy VII remake for the PS3 to be in fact true!!! Not only that, but apparently it'll use the FFXII battle engine!
Now I nearly hit the damn floor when I read this. So far I've been unable to find any confirmation of this, but if it is true . . .
And no, it wasn't the April issue, so the possibility of it being an April Fool's joke is highly unlikely.
The article was placed in the first couple pages in the news/rumor/etc. section of the magazine. Pick up a copy and check it out for yourself.

I have that issue, note that was in the rumours section. So don't give your hopes up.

I wouldn't trust them, but due to Advent Children's above-expected sales it may happen.

I would expect that if it were true, Square-Enix would announce it at the upcoming E3, but of course that's if its true. On the other hand, given the extreme number of FF7 fanboys, I don't think any magazine would ever run the potential PR/hatemail nightmare of lying to them!
