i am trying to start from scratch and im making a movement script. this is what im having trouble with- i dont know what the command is or how to use it for detecting which button is pressed and know what action to do. i hope you understand and you can help me ive been playing around with rpgm2 for about 2-3 months and i cant figure much out, i did order the guide it will be here in a few days. thank you for your help

your post was a little cryptic, but i gathered from it that you are trying to reprogram the controller in some manner. this is how you do it:

input>>user button (set wait time, or infinite wait)

here you can either use sort or conditions, but you want to sort variable 04, user button. then, using sort branches, or conditions, identify what happens when the button is pressed. the actual script is posted in a thread here called 'reprogramming the controller' you should look for it.

also, please try to title your thread w/ a title appropriate to what you are trying to get help on, so that you will get help sooner.

each button and its variable 4 equivelant:

0: up
1: down
2: left
3: right
4: triangle
5: circle
6: square
7: 'x'
8: start
9: select
10: L1
11: L2
12: L3
13: R1
14: R2
15: R3

youll notice that this isnt what the help says when you press start. the start help is wrong. hope that helps.

-whatever you want to happen here when you press Up
-Branch:To End
-Script:Branch End
-Script:Branch End

-whatever you want to happen here when you press button associated
with number

Repeat these lines for each button you want to use.

Put this script in the motion area of an event, then place it on all maps out of sight.
