It's been a while since I've been here. What was it? 5 months? Anyway, I had these login problems. I couldn't get in for some reason. I quite remember what it was, but I couldn't get in because of my email address and my internet provider is AOL. So what can I do?

well, we can change your password and send it to you. you may be experiencing difficulties due to the fact that after the upgrade, everyone has to reregister. if that is the case, and you cannot access your old account (or email addy), let me know, and we will pursue those ends. i will refrain from emailing your password until i am sure you are able to check your email.

Alright, I forgot to mention something. Every time I made an attempt to login, I wasn't able to even view the forum index. All that would appear would be a message saying "enter activation code". Whenever I entered it, I still couldn't log in. In fact, I don't think I ever received an e-mail that provided the necessary information.
Also, Ves, I tried searching through my e-mails and I couldn't find anything Doan related.

okay, whats happening is you havent signed in since the upgrade, and its emailing your activation code, and you have to type it in to sign in. its mailing your activation code to:
[deleted]
if that is not your email, let me know. if you arent recieving the activation code there, let me know.
ill see if i can find a way to resend the activation code.

I remember that this problem wasn't fixed. Anyway, I've been trying to log on again and everything has was going fine. I entered my email address while I was trying to search for my password, etc. but I don't receive any email within 5 minutes. Do I have to wait longer? Because if I do then I'll wait. If I'm bothering anybody, I'm sorry. I remember Ves trying to send me the password but it couldn't come through (because of my internet provider AOL?). Seriously, I almost feel like making a new account, but I don't want to go against the rules so that's why I didn't. If someone would please help me I'd greatly appreciate it. NOTE TO TFR: If you want to report your own log in difficulties, you make your own topic.

Does your account still need re-activated? Also, what is your e-mail? Don't answer here, but instead, send an e-mail to doan@doanthenado.com and I will be happy to try to straighten everything out for you.

Does your AOL mail have a spam folder? It HAS to be going there. I know because I changed your account's e-mail to my own and within a few minutes, the e-mail came. So when I changed the e-mail back to you, you certainly should have received it. Please check your Spam folder (or Bulk, or whatever it's called), and then get back to me.

I'm going to try to send it again...
SCRATCH THAT Okay, I'm just changing the e-mail to my own and activating it for you. I'll be sending you an e-mail shortly giving you your new password. You should be able to login with that. The only problem is that your listed e-mail will be mine. Now, the thing is, you can change your e-mail, but when you do, you have to reactivate your account, getting us right back in the spot we're in now.
But at least you'll be able to login here in a bit.

EDIT: Oh, you said I should re-activate my account? How would I do that?

No, that's not what I was saying. If you look at your profile, you will notice that it has my email address instead of yours. If you try to change this, it will cause you to have to re-activate your account again. My recommendation was that because you are not properly receiving your AOL e-mail from ProBoards, you may want to subscribe to a Yahoo address in order to change it over, because I have had no problem getting Yahoo e-mail from ProBoards.

Alright, I subscribed. Now, do you want me to PM you with my e-mail address? Or what? Because, somehow I can't edit my profile.

You should be able to click the "profile" button at the top of the page, or just click on your name. Once you do that, a screen comes up which says:
Member's Bio - Modify Profile - Bookmarks
Click on Modify Profile, and one of the first fields there is e-mail address. Go ahead and change that to your new Yahoo address and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click the "Modify Profile" button.
Some kind of screen should come up asking you for an activation code. When that happens, look in your e-mail, and if it's not there yet, wait about 10 minutes or so. You should get the e-mail shortly with the code, and you will then be able to re-activate your account.
