Up to this point, the GoogleAds have been on my website for 2 weeks, receiving 146 clicks, which has resulted in $30.50 so far. This projects to about $750 per year, a very good amount. This is more than I ever expected, and I couldn't be happier. The money is going to be used to pay for my website hosting (which may be upgraded, if necessary to host all of your files) as well as to pay for return postage on the items you send me, so that I no longer have to ask you to pay for it. In addition, all money on top of that (looks like about $650 per year at this point) will be used to host various contests.
In short, we are doing great, but I do think we can do better. Just imagine if we can get 20 clicks per day instead of 10. This would mean about $1000 per year just for contests. I don't know about you guys, but the thought of a grand prize (for the contest-of-the-year) of $400 cash would be plenty to convince to spend a few extra hours on RPGM2 here and there.
So if you enjoy the experience here or enjoy a service I may have provided for you with my web hosting, please take the time (when you're bored) to go to my website (the banner up top is a link to it) and just click on a few ads (but not too many, or Google might get suspicious). It only takes a minute or so and it could mean a lot more prize money for you guys in the many contests I have brewing up here in this head o' mine.
Thanks for everything,
Doan the Nado

Maybe a "Best Story Intro" (everyone posts their story intros)'d be good a good contest, or something like that that'd get us developing (conceptualizing) our games. I guess rating that'd be tough though.

Yeah, that would definitely be tough. I would prefer not to have contests that are judged only by me. Instead, all the entries for contests will be posted (whether it be text, a music file, a demo, a mini-game, a game, or whatever else) and anyone with a 3-star rating will be able to vote by sending me a private message or something.
This will not occur for some time, however, as it will be months before I have the resources to host a contest. Remember, the first check will pay the bills, and then I'll likely announce a contest with prizes that will be awarded when the next check comes.

hmmm... not to jump the gun, but here are some contest ideas:
best original story (written, nothing to do w/ rpgm2 really)
best custom music (the whole game would be a music script)
best book adaptation (someone would assign a book, you would sit down, read it, and adapt it)
best movie adaptation (same as above, but w/ a movie)
other things, more to do w/ scripting, could be something like best cbs (nothing but the cbs, no other gameplay involved. the game would consist of one battle), best minigame (same as cbs, but just a minigame) best designed dungeon (...)
other ones, maybe for specific holidays, could be like best holiday oriented game (santa has to deliver all the presents... et al), or even design the most realistic map of the US (for like fourth of July) or the world. i have tons of ideas on contests, so once they get started, be sure ill give you some ideas.
some of these ideas could be done in a day, a week, and some would take a little while (the book one)
also, doan, i think that for the contests, i would help you judge them if you wanted me to. or something.
