Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (PS) is my second favorite game, only next to Brigandine, and a big influence on me. I thought it was fun and interesting when at the very beginning in TO:LUCT, Tactics Ogre: A Knight of Lodis, and Ogre Battle when you were asked a series of questions (more so prefer Ogre Battle here) (like, An apparition comes to you at night, what does the apparition look like? A beautiful woman, an old man, a decrepit warrior) and depending on how you answered the main character's stats would change (and in Ogre Battle his moves). The twist to my game is that how you answer these questions also determine the Guardians of all the 16 party members' (everyone is born with one Guardian God or Goddess to protect them (even enemies), and each party member has one Guardian they can call upon in battle and get pretty darn good stat boosts for the whole party, but only one Guardian can be aiding the team at a time (calling a new one removes the old one) (enemies can do this too, but not always since it costs decent SP (MP) to do)) Guardians (allowing everyone to be capable of having any Guardian but still having them have better chance of certian ones over others). However, I can't think of a good way to mix in a cool intro scene with doing this (which is fine with me). But on the other hand, after this there's some dialogue-cut scenes with action (warriors beating up bloody pirates) so I think skipping a cool intro scene would be fine.
Anyway, my main question is do you guys like the idea of the game starting out with the questions and such?

I definitely like this idea and had originally considered doing something like this at the beginning of a game that I was going to create. I didn't really like Kingdom Hearts all that much (so shoot me), but this was one part that I did like: that based on how certain questions were answered at the beginning, the main character's stats and other attributes changed. In my opinion, they didn't change enough, but that's just me.
I like the idea of having the player make decisions in the game that affect the character of the party leader (and maybe the whole party). If you can do it right, it makes it seem as if the player is the main character, since the way they act in the game will hopefully resemble the real-life player.
So yeah, go for it,

first, id like to say that you rule william, because you have excellent taste for games, although i like LUCT better then brigandine. LUCT is probably my all time favorite game.
on to the question, i like this idea. i liked it in LUCT, and i think it allows some inadvertant customization. also, i think you should check out the questions at the beginning of TO: Knight of Lodis, because i thought they were formatted better. so thats my opinion.

Me too about the KoL thing. I like the way the questions were in KoL more than LUCT too, but I like how Ogre Battle's were more interesting I guess, and varied from playthrough to playthrough. And thank you for the compliment. ;D (And thank you too Doan) I'm thinking I'll go ahead with this. I already have it all typed out, so I gave a test run picking answers myself, and got Aphrodite for one of the strong warrior guys.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Aphrodite!
In all seriousness, I think that you have a great idea in the works. Good Luck.

Oh yeah, as I was making the religion of the world and posting it on my site I realized my religion calls for only one God. So, with the Guardians I'm going to change them to Guardian angels and instead of using Zeus, Apollo, etc. I'm going to look in the Bible (or on the internet) for angel names, or make them up (but that'd be tough). Any ways, this is good for me since I did have them a little more slanted to STR and AGI and not MAG, and since I'm remaking them not by the Greek Gods and what they were like I'll get to choose them myself (and how they affect the what stats). I may make more or less than nine, but probably not more than ten or less than eight.
If anyone knows any or has any good names for angels you may post them and I'd be gracious (and if I use them I'll put you in the special thanks, not that most of you are already in it (I have a list typed up)).

Gabriel is both used in the Bible an Quaran as an angel of the lord. Also Beelzebub is one of Satan's main demons if that helps you at all?
