Abilities
Bio Glow
Bio glow is a complex luminary ability that releases the chemical energy within the cells of an organism and converts it into an electromagnetic wave. The ability is commonly used as a flare or lantern in deserted areas and is most famously recognized in the story of Cavalin Roanoke. The ability and the history surrounding it are often taught in primary school.
Bio glow relies on compressing the hydrogen and nitrogen in an organism into specific cells and producing the luciferin outside of the organism with oxygen in the atmosphere. The compound is then oxidized by the luciferase when the solution is compressed by the air.
Death Ray
Death ray is a luminary FOF ability that condenses the air around one’s enemy into a convex lens, thus magnifying the sun’s energy into a death ray. The attack has the ability to instantly vaporize one’s foe though it takes up a large amount of energy. As the attack actually uses the external energy of the sun, the actually summoning of the energy it takes up a small amount of one’s chi though the majority of the energy is used up trying to track and possess control over the fast moving air molecules. Attempts throughout history have been made to harness this power as a solar power source though all have failed due to the large amount of concentration required for the attack.
Characters
Solo, Junor
Bitter and envious to those of the upper class, Junor, like so many, was once of the Bushi, who fell out of favor during the war. Meeting unemployment, he lived his life robbing those who ventured into the Demon’s Forest north of Timber and searching for scraps of food. He was defeated by Neil while attempting to mug him on June 21, 1950.
Dunglass, Neil
Dunglass, Neil
Neil Dunglass was a young boy born within higher level of conscious and was as created by Crowley as a refined psychic. However, due to a domino effect of events, Thomas, an illiterate ex-soldier of the War and States Era, had no way to achieve a steady income and the family was placed into poverty. Deemed as a race traitor due to his positive views of ogres, Thomas and Neil were soon exiled onto the outskirts of the Timber Plains. Here, they were forced to take lodging in an old fort created during the Imperial Age and Neil gradually began his descent into insanity and as a result of his psychic abilities to “see” apparitions, he was diagnosed with schizophrenia before this fact. The funding for the doctor who actually diagnosed Neil robbed the family of their resources and they were forced to ration food. Combined with the darkness, the poor conditions, the poor nutrition, and the demons and spirits he was able to see with his abilities, Neil was soon truly driven into madness. As a typical habit he began rocking back and forth, apparently speaking to himself (he actually typically spoke to apparitions), and he created his own world within his head to seek shelter in (see Nirvana).
Conditions soon worsened as an outbreak of the plague erupted in the Timber, though due to their isolation Neil and Thomas were saved from the occurrences. Such a large amount of people died daily that mass graves and crypts were formed to place the bodies in, forming paranoia and a mass religious obsession among the people. Many fled from Annesborrow itself in order to escape the plague, only spreading the disease to other territories, until the area was placed under martial law and escape from it was restricted.
Debate and arguments waged over the causes of the disease and the racial tension increased even further. As Bobby Reviou was murdered by Cereus little was actually done to solve the case, owing to the already inherent discrimination and the case was quickly forgotten. Despite this, Neil was greeted with a great amount of grief over the situation as the innocent child finally began to realize how closely death could fall to those he knew. Eventually, in order to escape the plague, various families formed a group to attempt to smuggle themselves out.

Judus of the Mountains
A barbarian from the East, Judus was a revolutionary for the lower class who becme the very inspiration for the both the Immigrants' and Socialist Reconstructionists Movement. Before an actual battle took place, Judus was the captain of the Yachi Clan's 5th battallion. However, along with Marvlin, he conspired against Chief Sigog and was able to overthrow him. This age of prosperity in the East, which begain with the "Ravage of Hiden", lasted for several years until he was ironically enough, also betrayed, this time by a seemingly insignificant, average soldier of his army named Vice Tyr though he was of course reincarnated as Aark (his soul coexisted with the newer soul that inhabited Aark's body).
The origins of his amazing strength are known by few though he actually recieved the armor he always wore from a strange man in a cloak, who only gave his name as Beelzebub. The armor in question becomes stronger with each person the wearer kills due to the soul absorption. However, as it was later found, Judus, like many politicians, was merely a puppet. The armor after all slowing gained control of his Id.
Tyr, Cardel
Cardel Tyr was the older brother of Vice. Despite his age, he was forced to become rather mature and he showed an abnormal spiritual awareness for his species. In an attempt to escape the village of Hiden during "the Ravage", he decided that he was unable to leave his comrades behind and sent Vice off to the Cathedral alone. However, when he arrived, he found that his friends had already been killed and he was hopelessly cornered by Judus. Though he attempted to fend off his attacks, Cardel was easily slain and beheaded by Judus. Unknown to him, however, Vice had followeed him to his place of death and the event of watching him beheaded traumatised Vice for his entire life.

Breadnut
Breadnut is a small town to the east of Timber, its main economical partner. Regardless of this fact, the bread and crops produced in Breadnut are distributed all throughout Canis through both the Southern Sea and the Phelonian Trade Routes. Instead of acting as an independent town, Breadnut is usually regarded as an extension of Timber. Thieves, rangers, bards, monks, druids, cavaliers, merchants, foresters, sailors, shepherds, and hunters all live in this village though foresters, druids, and shepherds have the most influence. As well, the large plains and expanses of Hillsberry make cavaliers and rangers cultural staples of the community. For this reason, Breadnut breeds the second largest amount of horses in Canis next to Riveriva.

Historical Events
Ravage of Hiden
In December 25th, 1037 an army of Pares barbarians laid siege to the gulf town of Hiden. In the typical style of Pares, the group had few problems with attempting to kill all who appeared before them, including civilians. The idea of a small, uncivilized, and technology underdeveloped tribe were able to lay claim to one of Charlegme’s cities sent a shock throughout the country, which began what would be forever known as the Upheaval of the West, a great revolution of both welfare and culture.

Organizations
Bushi (Bu-sh-I)
The Bushi are a small, completely ogre-composed, elite warrior classes located in the town of Mist in Grovesborrow. Though small in number and payed to a minimum, the Bushi are Canis’s strongest close range attack force by a large margin. Despite this, demand for them has been declining rapidly since the Amar War due to the introduction of guns, a weapon that placed the sword into mediocrity (the Snowell Massacre created this picture clearly as a twenty man group of valuable Bushi fighters were completely wiped out with ease), and the illiteracy that was present in their generation (before the 40s and 50s, a very basic education was considered to be needed). Large numbers of Ronins, dishonored soldiers, traveled around in small packs of hobos during the jobless market of the Amar War; this continued well into the era of peace, causing disruption and racial tension towards the South, especially among the local soldiers, of whom feel their job was lost because of their presence.
