OK I am working on a first person rpg in rpg maker 2 and I was wondering if anyone has or knows how to make a script for a real time battle system. Something similar to Fallout3 or Oblivion's battle system. So it would be like if the player is in the enemies field of view it would try to get in range of the player so it could attack the player and same thing with the player and NPC. I already have the camera in a FPS type of view and have the gun animations ready I still need enemy and NPC AI so they could attack each other if in contact. (they would only fight in the main quest not by random). Also I need to know how to make it so when the player uses the attack button it does damage when the enemy is in range and the weapon is facing the enemy and I need to know how to make the weapon do damage. I already have a some what basic understanding of how to make a enemy AI but its not enough for this. Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to Doans! Your project seems very promising, however, its suggested that you start with a nice simple project, there are guides for Action battle systems but unless you know what variable does what its gonna be almost nigh impossible to figure out. Mainly because the creator of the guide doesn't play RPGM2 anymore, and only a few people know how it works 100%. Anyway, I wish you luck on your project!

Hmm... it seems my understanding of Rpg Maker 2 is not as great as I once thought it was. I have decided to work with a project more fitting to my understanding... well at least with this being my new goal I will be free of the more complex and confusing scripting. Well thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
