mmkay, i have no idea how to make a minigame, so i'd appreciate (sp?) all the help i can get for this one. what i wanna do: -put down X dollars to bet -choose a suit (either spades, diamonds, clubs or hearts) -choose a number (A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K) -a card is then flipped up -if you guessed completely wrong, you lose the X dollars you bet -if you get the suit correct but the number wrong, you get back the same amount that you bet -if you get the number correct but the suit wrong, you get what you bet, plus another half of what you bet -if you get the card exactly correct (as in you guess spade and 3 and you get the 3 of spades) you win triple what you bet the winnings can be altered to something more realistic or easier to make, but that's basically what i wanna have happen. i'm sure i'll have to make a variable be the deck of cards, but i have no clue how to do any of this. :'(please, kind citizens, wouldst thou aideth me? -the melodramatic smurf

Well for the suits you can have a multiple choice event for the party to choose. But since there is more than 8 for the card value you'ld either have to make two pages of choices or your own visual effect choice menu. Now after you've made it so the player can choose the kind of card just make some random variables. Suit=1?4 Value=1?13 Then run some script branhces for conditions for if the suit is met, then if the suit is met is the value met, if so do this, if not do this. Then If suit isn't met is the value met, if so do this, if not do this.

I would suggest using a number input instead of multiple choices for the numbered cards. Stick to multiple choice for the suits. It could go either way for the "picture" cards.
You will also need two "system" variables for "House card" and "House suit" so you can see if they match.
Further, given the odds of selecting the exact card from a deck is very slim, I would give a much larger reward for guessing correctly the exact number and suit.
I began scripting this in my head, but whenever I post such scripts there is a very good chance I will post something extremely stupid, so I am not going to do that until I get to test such things or until I get better (my confidence sometimes exceeds my skills).
I was thinking if you have a lot of unused flags you could make a full set of cards with 2 variables and 52 flags. The flags could be used to tell if a card has been dealt and send a script "to top" if it selects a used card. Plus you can reset long strings of flags with a single script command. So "shuffling" is as easy as resetting 52 flags with one command.
Card games were one of my first programming efforts waaaaay back in the card-punch days (God I'm getting Old!) so I may be able to help with details on this one if you run into trouble with concepts.

Instead of using multiple choice for the card number, use the Input: Input command and ask the player to put in the number 2 to 10 or letters J, Q, K, A. Then Sort the input and keep track of the value chosen that way. Compare this value to a random number (1-13).
