I was debuggerring my demo I plan on posting Sunday and found that when I offer the player the option to revisit a certain map, I need to return the boat to it's original position. To leave the area they needed to use it, then go to an area from which they could no longer access the boat.
I can get around this by simply warping them to the boat for the second teleportation, but I wanted to restart the whole thing.
Is there a script command that will let me move a vehicle (boat) "remotely"? I have done this with land vehicles, but never needed to do so with sea or air vehicles... until now. I have tried switching control and using event move, as well as attempting to deploy it (but you can not deploy a boat). No luck. I even tried Temporary Removal, but that does not work on vehicles. Call vehicle was equally useless.
Any thoughts?
=================== HOLY CRAPPE: ===================
I mean..
=================== EDIT: ===================
Part of the problem is solved and now I have a whole new question.
I recalled reading somewhere that the system does weird things with Vehicle #0 so I re-registered to #1. Now I can call it, but it shows up rotated 90 degrees from where it was originally placed and gets stuck in the dock!!!
What is happening here?
Any help would lead directly to a better demo being uploaded this weekend!
Peace.

Well for the rotation, though I don't know why it is happening, you could try to use the event rotate command on it. Now for sea movement, the smart people at agetec did not allow for boats to be able to move in water, who would ever want to do that (I realise they probably did this to not define custom object properties, but still) so to move boats you have to tell them to bypass objects. Now this also puts the boat at the bottom of the sea, so you have to make sure where you are moving your boat is as shallow as possible, without making the water change to a lighter color. It helps to have very small waves as well, like around 1/6 or 2/16. This is what I had to do for my armada scene.
Of course if anyone else has another way to move boats in water, other than making them a sea vehicle, I'm all ears, cause the only way I know works but is not a very good solution.

The boat is probably being reset to it's default orientation. Check the facing of the event caring the vehicle and see what the default facing is.
You could always try calling the boat to a position away from the dock and then moving the boat into position. I haven't done a lot with vehicles, but I'm sure there must be a simple solution.

Thanks for the advice.
I'll try to implement it in my next effort at updating the demo.
I now have a lot to polish in a short time (my weekend has been interrupted by a spontaneously disassembling transmission) (I hate Ford cars... they used to be so good too... they invented the damn things!).
Anyway, I shall just warp to the only dock the boat could possibly be if they got through the demo to the point where I need to do the warp back. It is a simple solution and I don't want to wait another week.
Hopefully I shall upload it tomorrow mid to late afternoon.
Peace.
