I was mad at object placement and started hitting buttons like crazy *that's what I do when I can't get stuff to work lol*, and found out you can change speed of animating objects. I looked at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, and it showed the Speed, Angle, and something called 'STR', now, I can make the STR number go up/down, but I don't know what it does. Do you guys have some what of a clue or answer to what it does?

lol u didn't know you could change object speed? Oh well I think it's VERY VERY helpful when placing things like window shudders, just set their speed to 0 and no more animation. But as far as the STR I didn't figure that one out either. Maybe the guide says something.
Goes grabs guide**
*minute later* *can't find guide
well I'll check if I ever find it lol

Str is the objects starting frame of animation, so if you wanted the door to start halfway open. This is not in the guide but pressing start while holding certain other buttons, like triangle in this case, gives you help on what combinations involving that button there are. And triangle + left or right changes the starting frame. They also suggest using this to create crowds, so all the people don't start on the same foot.
It didn't seem to work too well for me though, I think you would be better off creating an event if you want to set starting frame. When I did it it doesn't seem to affect the starting frame at all, but maybe I did something wrong.
Well now that I check it again it does change the starting frame, this is more apparent with objects, but it will only do it if speed is > 0 and it just makes it so objects motions don't sync up.

I figured STR stood for strength, and you could set how much damage the object would have to take before it got destroyed. Lol. I was waaaaaaaaaay off... ;D

Wow...I never new the str thing, either. Probably because I did not have a use for it yet. But anyway, that is some awesome info that I could use in the future.

well, heck, I figured I was one of few who DIDNT know what STR meant. well, the feature has helped save time instead of making an action script to slow it down, and place an event, etc.

as far as my knowledge serves me, no you can't sadly. I was hoping you could though.... who knows, maybe some one will stumble upon it though, up till awhile ago, i thought events had to be used for shut doors and such...

You can only turn an object to face North, South, East, or West. You can turn an event every which way. I found a cool command that lets you turn an event 360 degrees. I thought you could only use the 8 movements directions, but if you want to do precise angles, you can.

I recently, *well, within 2 weeks ago* found out that holding R1 and hitting X in event/object placement allows overlapping... but thats because ppl mentioned it. I believe it was you DW, not sure though.
