i have not specifically decided what type of game this is to be, but i have decided what it will not be:
This is not a story about a world on the brink of apocolypse, an event that defines an age, a political infrastructure eating itself apart, some threat that looms overhead, or even heroes and villians. This is a story about a boy, his family, and his experience. because sometimes, these are the most inspirational.

well, maybe not so much world. the world this game takes place on may or may not be seen in a very distant future, but as for now, its name will have to suffice. The story takes place on the world of 'Asthar', named after the patron diety himself. This is a world that ive spent quite a bit of time developing, over several years, and have recently come back to.

Timeline

I havent quite decided where Pheonix Pinion (noted as PP) falls on the timeline of Asthar quite yet, and as it does not alter any of the events that occured on Asthar that brought into the light of gamers years ago, i dont suppose it truly matters, except for setting cohesion and such. what i do know, is that PP takes place on the 'new world' of asthar, which may or may not truly be new at the tme of the story, and the world still finds itself a loose assembly of city states, small kingdoms that are no larger than what an army can travel in a day. i also know that, for whatever reason, the Kingdom of Fawleh doesnt exist at the time of the predefining moments of Asthar (which one day, you may get to enjoy), or it isnt recorded. This may be due to location, or some such other reason, or it may be because Fawleh is an ancient kingdom, now dead. Sometime, i will have to decide.

As mentioned, PP takes place in the country of Fawleh, a small city-state nestled just below the foothills of the BayRau Mountains. It has both neighbors of diplomatic trust and tenseion. Fawleh, like most primitive kingdoms, enjoys spring battles that prove little, and ruin crops.

Sociology, religion, and other such nonsense
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fawleh is ruled by one king, if the term is used most liberally. so, then, the government is monarchy. this, like other monarchys, is a very selfish one, but the people enjoy the freedoms they have, and none of this really matters to our story, because boys are hardly ever involved in politics, esspecially that of kings.
the only society that needs to be known is that of Fawleh, and it is your typical serfdom. farmers, tradesman, and so forth. one large castle, a few small hamlets, and thats all there is. the people are fairly ignorant, but well protected. no one owns a weapon w/o allowance by the king, as he is paranoid, and insecure, and possibly realizes he is a bad ruler. anyways, its your typical, poor, small kingdom.
the religion, however unimportant it is to the actual game, is that of polytheism. namely, there are four higher gods (Asthar, Nolvar, Regonta, and one that i either dont quite remember or didnt name) and a plethora of lower gods (from everything to cartography to crops to luck) somewhat reminiscient of the roman or greek or indian societies. forgive me for not going into this too much, as it really doesnt matter.

i know all of this sounds fairly general right now, but my time is short. i hope to give you just the basic layout, and then inspire questions. so, if something interests you, ask away. if something sounds bad, suggest a change. if something needs to be expanded, well... i may at some point put the actual story on here, but what fun would that be?
