This topic will explain in detail my game that I'm making for RPG Maker 2.
The name of the game is "Letaile: The Black Sabers" and Letaile is also the name of the planet the game is set on.
The World
Letaile is a slightly medieval type of setting that contains magic and many exotic things that you wouldn't see in our world. The planet consists of (so far) 4 "continents" which are; Central Letaile, which consists of mostly small islands and larger islands that make up a "pseudo-continent", Pelnaire contains a large desert and the most ports and is the location of the largest trading federation, Azleroth is a frozen landmass that would be the northern ice cap of Letaile, the Titan Lands are a collection of varied climates resulting in one extremely large continent. Scientifically the Titan Lands is the newest continent because it has experienced the least erosion. In lore, it is the oldest continent
The Favored Races
The favored races are a group of races that have scarred Letaile with civilization, technology, and war. They are the most intelligent out of the beings on Letaile.
Elves are common throughout Letaile and can widely vary in appearance and mental capacities. Some elves can almost not even be identified as elves when compared to other elves, and some elves show such a visual difference that they are considered a different race. They can be skilled in magic, melee, or marksmanship, they show no particular allegiance to any type of combat.
Most dwarfs represent the physical extremities of the favored races. Some are very short and some tower over most trolls. These broad-shouldered creatures reside on the East shore of the Titan Lands and are seldom seen elsewhere because they are self contained under the mountains of other continents. If the dwarves have to fight, they use their mountain strongholds to give them a terrain advantage, then they procede to use primitive guns that only they know how to craft, along with sharp mining tools that provide a surprisingly efficient weapon.
Devili (Humans) show the least connection to religion and culture. They are technological powerhouses and excel at mercantile and other ways of gaining financial advantage. They are most proficient with stealth, bows, crossbows and other ranged weapons due to their frail physique and lack of magical skill (as compared with other races). Stealth is their major advantage, using daggers, shortswords, knives, kukris, sais, and other easily concealable, potentially deadly weapons, they make the best assassins. Due to lack of morals they find no problem partaking in guerillla warfare. Some Devili, however, have been known to become great sorcerers and swordsmen despite their racial disadvantage. Devili are found mostly in Central Letaile. Diplomats and trade agents are frequently seen in Pelnaire though. Some are known to have small horns near their temples.
Wolvis are a beastly race. They live in the Western plains of Central Letaile and the majority of their population is divided up between warring tribes and clans. Some Wolvis can be fully evolved resulting in little differences between most of the other favored races, but others can be of low evolutionary variety and these ones tend to run on all fours and retain more of the primal instincts of their canine-like ancestors. No matter what form of Wolvis, they all retain carnivorous instincts that lets them excel at melee combat despite the low intelligence average and their lack of size advantage. They are known to have rather sharp teeth and claws that rival the efficiency of small daggers. They prefer close quarters combat that lets them use their claws and teeth, as well as the standard short sword they are proficient with.
Giants hold the least population out of all the favored races. Despite their immense size advantage, they have surrendered to the mountains and live in mostly camps of small huts made of forest refuse. They are the least evolved in the intelligence department and due to their lack of adaptation skilled they have become herbivores and are a very submissive race. Some appear to have a lot of fur and some appear to be overgrown dwarfs. The ones with the heaviest fur live in the mountains of Azleroth and enjoy a peaceful environment that most races cannot live in. They live off of the unique plants that grow in the frozen tundra of the Azlerian mountain ranges. Other giants live in the Titan Lands where these giants are less hairy than their cold climate counter-parts. The giants that reside in Central Letaile live off agriculture traded to them from the native Devili. The race of giants is near extinction and more and more are moving to Azleroth. The lack of contact with other races is helping them thrive because they are very susceptible to foreign disease. Years of reaching edibles in high places has made them tall and strong enough to bend trees, they prefer no fighting, but if forced they prefer clubs or hammers because of the wide range and lack of accuracy required.
*NEW*
Draglings are a proud race. They hold a training colony in the NE Mountains of The Titan Lands, while the bulk of their population resides in several islands along the corresponding NE Mountains of The Titan Lands. They resemble bipedal dragons with no wings. This particular race prefers to fight with giant shields, coupled with lances, spears, and halberds.
*NEW*
Tigris are a bipedal, cat-like race seen often all over Letaile. The Tigris that live in Pelnaire are desert-adapted creatures. They ride cougars as means of swift transportation, cougars are also often used as mounts in battle. The Tigris found in the forsts and jungles of Central Letaile are skilled hunters. They make anything their prey and hunt relentlessly with bows, javelins, and very rarely crossbows.
The Tigris use martial arts as a sport, therefore they are very proficient in hand-to-hand combat. Their hunting prowess easily transfers into the urban environment, Tigris assassins rival the stealth and dexterity of Devili assassins. Unlike the Devili, the common daggers, shortswords, and knives are foreign tools to the Tigris. The prefer to hunt with bows and their claws.
*NEW*
Trolls are the olive skinned cousins of Giants. They live exclusively in the mountains of The Titan Lands. Like the Giants, Trolls are reclusive. However, you'd be more likely to see a Troll than a Giant. Unlike Giants, Trolls are carnivorous. Trolls are more likely to attack than Giants are. If the Trolls are being threatened they attack in large groups using clubs, maces, and broadswords.
There are more races which I will certainly add later on if interest is shown.
The Plot Thickens...
The underlying plot of my game is based around a group of "anarchists" called The Black Sabers. The Black Sabers are mainly made up of Devili and are responsible for orchestrating the decline of every major civilization in Central Letaile for over 8 decades. The current threat is an empire named Tainair. Tainair has been thriving near the SW coast of the Central Letaile sub-continent Teernyue. The Black Sabers view them as evil because every time a major civilization is established, taxes skyrocket and trade is controlled by a monarchy, which gives Tainair too much power over Central Letaile and most of Pelnaire.
In the game you take on the role of several different characters over the span of about 50-60 years as you attempt to find out who the bad guys are.
The name of the game is "Letaile: The Black Sabers" and Letaile is also the name of the planet the game is set on.
