Has anyone ever sat back just thought how amazing all this really is?
All these people from all over the country united by our passion for one game.
Everyone helping and supporting one another.
I am simply in awe.

I know what you mean. Before I heard about RPG Maker 2, I was content to play RPGs all by myself. Now I can share my passion for RPGs and game design with many other like minded people. At first I was afraid that I would be the only one who would really want to push RPG Maker 2 to the limits and create a really cool RPG, but there are many creative people here who are doing things I never thought of and really pushing me to make my game better. This is a great group of people and I am proud to be counted among you.

it used to be better. when RPGM1 launched, the pavilion regularly saw 1000+ new posts per day, from hundreds of different people.
I really wish things with RPGM2 were like that.

I just wish I could remember how I found the RPG Maker community in the first place.

I know I found the RPG Maker community because I went to Agetec's RPG Maker 2 information page and saw a link to the forum. I wanted to know about this game, so I went to the agetec forum and found out a lot. Someone mentioned the RPG Maker Pavilion in a post about images of the game and so I went there as well.

It's sad really, that I never even knew these places existed until I started looking into RPGM2. If I'd know about the pavilion and the Agetec board earlier maybe I would have found the inspiration I needed to actually finish one of my games.
Now I come here almost everyday and leave feeling primed to go at it again and finally get finished.

I can't wait till I get a Max Drive! All these games I keep reading about and all the different game development methods everyone's using make my squirm with anticipation (not literally, I'm just being descriptive).

Is it just me, or does the Pavilion seem dead?

Just about everywhere seems dead compared to this place. I think it helps that the main focus here is RPGM2 rather than off-topic discussion forums. The agetec board is doing well, but I think vets get tired of seeing their story posts fall down to the bottom among a sea of silly newbie questions.

Yaaaay, we're all just one big happy family!!!!! I remember when I first heard of RPGM2 in Japan I was so Enthusiastic about it. I went and saw all the screenshots and was like wow ( and I remember being so impressed and in awe of how cool the water looked). Little did I know that at the time I would have to live through many delays for the game and not finaly get it till over a year+ later....but it was worth the wait.

Yep, same here Nash. Turned out good though since my story and game plans developed and changed a ton from when RPGM2's first said US release would've been.

I did it! I found my first post at the Pavilion! p081.ezboard.com/frpgmakerpavilionboardfrm270.showMessage?topicID=106.topicThat demo's still at the Pav, too. (In the full games section, under the name Dark Elements. Don't ask why.) Shame I didn't mention how I found the Pav or RPGM. I think either I found out about it at RPG Maker Garden, or at the old Enix boards. The Enix boards was where I found out about RPGM in the first place. When I asked about RPGM, someone pointed me to the Garden and the Pav. I think I wound up preferring the Garden, though I didn't bother with posting in their boards (if they had any). When the Garden went down, I was forced into the Pavilion, and joined the boards sometime after that. Dunno what the timespan was from finding out about RPGM to joining. I know by the end of November 2001, I knew about the series, 'cause I had downloaded RM2K when I didn't know about it being pirated. I found out, and got rid of it soon after. I think I got RPGM1 in March 2002. I was so excited when I got it. I remember, at the same time, my cousin got Grand Theft Auto 3 (he had to give me the money to buy it since he was underaged). I think. Anyway, safe to say that it was a $40 well spent. It was a new, sealed package, too. The funny thing is, I had trouble creating my games even back then. "Not to mention the 8th or 9th RPG I've attempted to make. All the others I either got bored of, thought weren't good enough, or just would to be way too big. (The latter being my big RPG series being planned.)" Although I have to wonder if I really went through that many, or I was exaggerating. I don't really remember what they were. I just can't believe I've come all this way, and only finished one game. I'm gonna have to work on that. Amazing what one can find in those archives, though. Hmm, here's the Smitpok "yes" 4-$ topic. ...And here's a topic for the sequel. I think I remember that one. Dang, the impression you left with that being one of the first of your posts I read.
