Anyone else end up in the middle of the ice storm yesterday? We got about three inches of sleet with a layer of snow on top. Apparently, there was a Level One Snow Emergency declared, although it didn't stop anyone from driving. Everyone at work yesterday was all sorts of paranoid for some reason, and the lady that sits next to me kept checking weather.com every few minutes, which resulted in the following conversation: Her: Apparently, three seperate storms are all meeting in the same place. They're saything that it's a once-in-a-century occurrence. Me: Wow... it's like, stormageddon, or something. At any rate, after a few hours, I started getting a bit tired of talking about the weather, and decided to entertain myself by slipping every "stormageddon" parody I could think of into my conversations. Me: Y'know... my brother-in-law's barnyard animals escaped not too long ago. Apparently, one of the boards in the fence was loose, and all of the pigs escaped out onto the highway in front of their house. One of them even got hit by a car... [Pause] We called it "farmageddon." Y'know... I overslept by about an hour this morning. I still can't figure out why the stupid alarm clock didn't go off... [Pause] Maybe it was "alarmageddon."
It concerns me to realize that my sense of humor sometimes borders on sheer self-parody, but hey... horrible puns can be kind of fun sometimes.

Nice anecdote there. It got a grin and a "hmmp!" out of me. Here in Columbus, OH, it rained from Sunday until early Thursday morning, but no snow. It's supposed to get up in the 50s on Sunday, which is crazy, because we normally have about a foot of snow on the ground at about this time.
....I guess you could call it warmageddon. ;D

Yeah, it stayed below freezing here is Canada, so no freezing rain or ice storms - just pure, clean snow the last couple of days.

Well, we finally got our clean, pure snow last night. We'd just had the nasty, icy stuff all week, but when I checked the weather forecast at about 11:00 last night, it was calling for 100% chance of snow. So, all the icy stuff's still under there, but, meh... at least it looks nicer now.

It's funny like Doan said, in Ohio it's flooding. For Christ's sake it's January. Where's our snow and 10 degree weather? Your area must be hogging it all.

Well it's practically stormageddon here now. It's just piling down on us as I speak. I better start shoveling
