Last week i bought this game and its just plain fun. It's not really serious justr wacky but my opinion is that this game could probably run up against halo. The map editor is the same as the last one except with vehicles. I would give this game a 9/10. I reccomemnd that you buy this game.

I'm surprised its already out, I might pick it up since I love how you could create your own levels with objectives in the last one.

Like Future Perfect a lot. It's just that it took a step back in a lot of ways(difficulty, controls etc.). I could care less about online, since the online mode allows people to cheat like crazy.

I'll second 2. 2 was faster and less skill-limited than Golden Eye and Halo, and it sounds as though they tried to make 3 more for the masses like Halo. Go 2. Don't worry any, 1 and 2 are quite different and your skill won't carry over that much any ways. 2 should be cheap now too (and it's on all 3 systems) so definitely get it for the $20 or less it'd cost, at least if you have friends that'd play it too (alone it's not as good). The map editor thing's sweet too. I made some pretty rockin' maps, and whooped my friends on them the first five to twenty times . Taizon, in the map editor can you make outside areas now? I remember that was the biggest limitation, and it made the snow base always remain the best sniper level. Oh yeah, the stuff is hard to unlock so you may have to use a gameshark, X-Port, or max drive.

You can't make outdoor levels in the mapmaker. Unfortunately, you can only insert weather effects and make floors roofless(and put in pretty cool skies). I'll second 2. 2 was faster and less skill-limited than Golden Eye and Halo, and it sounds as though they tried to make 3 more for the masses like Halo. Man, are you ever right. Timesplitters 3 was what happens when EA gets ahold of a great series, and a great developer does their best. TS3 does improve in many areas. However, there are so many things that happened that are frustrating, and are IMO inexcusable. Let me list them: -You can't change certain control functions and the advanced aim controls are gone. Advanced aim allows users to create 2 different playing styles for aiming and normal play. Now, when you come to a challenge where you have to aim, for people like me who don't use the right analog to look while aiming, they're near impossible. -The amount of content for misc. stages(stages outside of story mode) have been reduced from 60+ to 48 total. I mean, I'm all for variety, but it's not like the TS2 stages were dull. Despite the drop, TS3 doesn't have a great variety of stages either. -Story mode is too easy. Easy mode isn't needed, normal is basically easy mode from TS2, and hard mode is TS2's normal mode with a little less life. Oh, and the stages don't add any more objectives with each difficulty so far I've played, as you pick the difficulty from any stage. That also means you can unlock extras just by switching to hard on the last level...after playing the entire game on easy. -A lot of things are unlocked from the start. All the game modes and most if not all of the stages. Multiplayer wise, you can unlock 2 weapons, but they're easily unlockable, one of them we've seen already, and the other's kind of stupid. The characters are pretty easy to unlock, since you get them by getting bronzes on the challenges and completing story mode levels. Cheats are pretty easy to unlock as well. I got like, 30% the first 3 days I had the game, and I played like what, 5-7 hours total in those 3 days? -Co-op is required to unlock 2 characters. That, and there's warping issues. This means your team must be together at all times, or else they'll warp to a position in front of you in certain areas(those of you who played the Scotland level will know what I'm talking about, although it doesn't happen too often in other levels). This can be frustrating when you're trying to do it by yourself, or if two human players want to explore or something. Oh, and if one person dies, you BOTH fail the mission. I just have to say, that I'm actually dissapointed with a TS game. It's like Hell froze over. I mean, I like how TS improved in #3, but I'd rather see TS2 with #3's improvements than the crowd pleasing TS3 itself, because TS3 feels like a lite expansion pack.

I wasn't aware of there being a second aim mode in TS2. Actually, I like the aiming better in TS3 anyway, since the cursor now sits in the center of the screen and you no longer have to struggle to keep it in place. I don't remember easy in Story Mode being that difficult in TS2. I tried Normal with my cousin, and we lost two or three times in the second level. The lack of extra objectives, I've noticed, and it does kinda suck. Yeah, I noticed that. There are so many characters to start with. And every stage and mode was open from the start, where in TS2 you only started with a few of each. And I did notice that the unlocked characters were too easy to obtain also. I got a bronze in one place, had to quit, unlocked a character. Got a gold later, nothing. I mean, if all you need to do is a subpar job at that stuff, what's the point of going all-out? And to make note, I got up to 20% complete in about 6 hours. Granted, I hadn't played Story Mode yet, but still... Okay, I absolutely hate it when you have to have a buddy to get the full experience of ANYTHING. This hatred started with Pokemon, and continued with Zelda: Four Swords and Final Fantasy: CC. Now they're doing that with this game? You don't even get all the speech in co-op. And don't remind me of the warping issues. The scotland level was terrible, as me and my partner wanted to go all over the place, whether it was to continue forward or to check if something was missed, and we kept being warped to spots walking in the wrong directions. Why this didn't seem to happen in the first level, I'll never know.
There are some nice improvements, though. Most notably the fact that there's an actual story going on in Story Mode, and the fact that you can create your own assault levels and have semi-outdoor areas in map maker. Which wouldn't be that bad, except the stackable pieces that can help make high walls only work on certain pieces. Still, there's something to be said about placing a scant few small platforms suspended over a large mine field and watching as all the computer opponents fall over the edge.
And they took out flame tag! That was like, one of my favorite modes! Virus just isn't the same. The sad part is, I traded in TS2 so I could get TS3. I knew something was up the moment I saw the EA Games logo pop up. The first thing I thought was "Oh great, does this mean there are going to be ads put up everywhere?"

No, I mean Virus isn't quite the same as Flame Tag. Virus itself is still the same.
