(short version)
List lots of games you think are good. Lots and lots of games (if you don't list a lot I'll likely have already played them). Lots of good games. Any system, any genre. Only list them if they are fun and not frustrating or boring. You don't have to say why if you don't want to, and if it comes to it list more without saying why. Just list a lot of good games that are fun and not frustrating or boring. Thank you
(long version)
If the game is mostly fun and can be a little frustrating at times that's fine, what I meant was if the whole game is frustrating and nothing else (Hoshigami is what I'm thinking about here), and with the boring I was thinking about Balder's Gate Dark Alliance and .hack where it's super-duper-boring the whole time and nothing else.
Basically, I need games. List 30, 40, 50+ because I've played a lot of games and if you list 10 or less there's about a 95% chance I've played all of them. I'll ask about the ones I'm interested in after you mention them because I don't need to hear what's good about games I already know.
Any system, any genre, I don't care. Just list a lot.
For say, games I'm pretty sure'll be pretty good (at least for one playthrough) that I don't have (in other words ones I've thought of on my own) are
Valkyrie Profile (PS) Ogre Battle 64 (N64) Smash Bros Melee (GC) Tales of Symphonia (GC, thanks Hitou and others) Suikoden 2 (PS) Suikoden 3 (PS2) Dark Cloud 2 (PS2) Breath of Fire 5 (PS2) Breath of Fire 2 (SNES) God of War (PS2, rental) Final Fantasy 4 (SNES, PS)
The problem arises that for the last year or two I haven't followed with games and I don't know much anything beyond the obvious GTA, Halo, Zelda, etc. (that you can't avoid hearing about).
Edit: Also, say whether you think it's a rental or not. For say I heard the God of War game was only 6 hours long so there's no way in hell I'd buy it, I'd just rent it and beat it.
Thank you.

What one person belives is frustrating and boring, another might find intreguing and simple. I loved Xenogears for PS1 but alot of people hated it. Be more specific to get the kind of games you are looking for.

For the PC I own a game Warlords Battlecry 3, great strategy game with 13 (i think) races with all different abilities and units. Definately a good game.
I play Civilization 3 for the PC all the time, too.

edit: and thank you so far to the people that have posted, but please do post more if you can. thank you

personally, i liked Jet Force Gemini, an action/adventure from N64. graphics were great for the system. its about two people and a dog who have to kill mutated bugs and stuff. guns and missiles instead of swords.
surprised there was no sequel...

I have one question so far that I couldn't really get from the gamefaqs reviews.
For Ace Combat 4 (Ves or whomever), do you think it'd be fun for someone who isn't very fond of flight simulators? I've found the one other flight sim I tried pretty darn boring; so, is there another appeal to it besides just the 'flight simulating' aspect? (all the reviews assumed I was a fan of flight sims)
Thank you!!!!!

yeah, no, you probably wont like it at all. its hard, and well, its the best flight sim out there right now, but theres not really too much more to it.
i totally forgot about valkyrie profile, btw. thats a pretty good game.
if you want to hear my reviews on anything, just let me know.

Okay, well I cracked down on myself and made myself be harsher to these games, so I have a few games to ask some questions about. Don't be overly kind to these games and sugar-coat anything. And try to put any biases aside. Thank you.
Dark Cloud 2___
Do the cell-shaded graphics hinder the player's ability to know where everything is (like depth perception)? If this is a problem (big or small), does it make the battling more frustrating and less fun?
Is there anything else you specifically think is bad about the game (unoriginal story, NO DIRECTION ON WHERE TO GO/WHAT TO DO, etc.)?
To someone who's played both the first and the second, is there enough of a difference in the various aspects of the second (story, characters, graphics, gameplay, etc.) to (probaby) entertain someone who's played the first (at least one time through the game)?
Suikoden 3___
The reviews and everyone said the game was very slow paced, by this do you mean to say the game is boring (and thus probably better left alone)? Is this slow pace a result of a very unoriginal story filled with flat characters that have no depth and/or simple/boring gameplay and annoying fetchquests (again, in other words better left alone)?
Breath of Fire 5___
To someone who has been playing rpgs since the PS, SNES, or NES era, do you think this game is worth getting in the bigger picture, when considering all rpgs ever? (I ask this because most everyone that's played this game has only been around for the new consoles, and thus mostly are the people that'd praise .hack, SO3, Xenosaga, etc. It seems like a decent buy but I don't know if I can trust those reviews)
Final Fantasy 1/2___
I know they were incredible for their time, but looking back now as someone who's played tons and tons of rpg-esque games since their original release, do you think they would still be entertaining? (Because a lot of what was entertaining then wouldn't be now (graphics I don't care about)) Try to put your biased memories of the first time you played this game aside.
Final Fantasy 4___
Same question as for FF1/2. Try to put your biased memories of the first time you played this game aside.
Breath of Fire 2___
Same question as for FF1/2 and FF4.
Arc the Lad 1/2___
Same question as for FF1/2, FF4, and BoF2.
_______________________________
Thank you to anyone who answers any of these!

One new question:
Is Advanced Wars worth getting, Ves, DKoL, or anybody?
Basically, I know the story sucks, the music sucks, and the graphics are nothing special, but apparantly the gameplay is amazing to 'any strategy fan', but of course, with new games that suck monkey balls like Disgaea that many others say are 'good' and 'like final fantasy tactics and tactics ogre' I can't trust this statement. And so, one specific review points out something in it that makes it sound VERY sucky in the way of anger, frustration, and that overall I'd hate the game like I hate a few other games by saying
"Advance Wars also tends to make you wish you could see through the color black. After only three or so missions, you will infinitely hate the cloud of war. It’s at about that time when you’re introduced to sniper tactics, you see, and moving just one unit into the wrong space will insure you certain destruction (this is actually what made me quit playing fire emblem forever, but most of fire emblem was great so I didn't complain much), and at least one ranking penalty. No mistakes in this game turn out cleanly. If it starts going badly, you’d better fix it soon, or you could lose before you think twice. This is one of the great challenges, though. If you don’t know the map, I constantly suggest that you save your game so that you can ‘replay’ your turns."
"My sole intention for the game was to play it casually. Hah, that turned out great, let me tell you... [that I was horribly wrong in doing so]"
"Due to the somewhat clumsy layouts on a few maps, and the impossibly perfect positioning of enemy forces, you will very frequently get frustrated. Also, there are times when you just swear up and down that the stats for troops do not matter, like when one super-tank with almost no life left manages to destroy half your assault force. That really puts a damper on things, and it seems to happen a bit more frequently as the game progresses. Now I am definitely not one to say a game is too hard, but I will admit that this is NOT for everyone. You may get horribly frustrated, or just sick of the exhaustive battles, which really can drag out if you’re not sure where you’re going or how you will best get there."

Did any of you guys list games you'd only heard were good and not played much of yourself? A few of these reviews had me opening my mouth in awe thinking 'Oh my God!'
One new question:
Ves, for Sims 2, was it (Sims 2) the first Sims game you got and you're really enjoying it now? (If so that's good 'cause that's me)
Okay, one other new question:
There are absolutely no good reviews for Civilization 2 (or any of them) (which 2 seems to be the best of them). Does it compare to Starcraft, meaning it (Starcraft) is better than the others/more fun because the units very more and you have more options as far as rushing/expanding/etc. goes and all the focus is on the military aspect and not the upgrade-your-units-slowly or tell-your-minors-what-to-do (like Age of Empires and Command and COnquer games are, not to mention often times they were horribly unbalanced)? If it's turn-based does it live up to TO:LUCT's required use of strategy/tactics and brigandine's versatile hexagon-paneled battle field? And, are the units balanced enough where it stays fun for a good while (unlike FFT, Tiberian Sun: Red Alert, Fire Emblem, etc.). but also varying enough where everything doesn't get too repetitious (like Age of Empires, Command and Conquers, Disgaea, etc.)?
One new other other new question:
There were no reviews at all, nor anything, at gamefaqs on Dues X (tried putting in both Dues and X separately too), could you point me to some reviews of it or tell me about it or something? (thank you)
One other new question:
(haha, I first thought the game would be like the show 'Battle Bots' on comedy central a few years ago) The game BattleBots, there is only one review, no faqs, no saves, and no board for it. Is this game extremely new or something? If so I'll put it in my Wait/Rent category and wait for more reviews to come up and the price to drop.
Again, thank you very much to all that have helped and will help.

Completely missed this topic for like a week somehow, anyway... Suikoden 3 - I didn't play it for that long, but it seemed like a decent game. (my stepsister was in town and she had it with her, when she left so did the game) I like games that have more than one main character a lot, where you can see the story from a few different points of view. There was a game that had like 8 or more main characters and I loved it for PS1, if I can remember the name I'll post it. ______ Saga, I think. (After reading down your list I think it was called Sage Frontier, not sure which one, but you played as one guy who was a superhero named Red I think) Final Fantasy 1/2 - Never played Final Fantasy 2 ( I don't think...if anyone remembers what the story was I can be positive lol) As for Final Fantasy 1, it is an excellent game for it's time, and still a worthy play now. Although, the characters have no souls in that game, lol, you choose the four characters in the beginning and their classes, they never talk, or show any story behind who they are other than the 'Light Warriors' Even with that, it's a good game, though. More challenging than most out there now. Final Fantasy 4 - Same as FF2, I get my RPGs confused after years Breath of Fire 2 - I loved this game when I played it a long time ago. Good storyline and interesting characters, all with unique abilities. Advanced Wars - I think I played a demo (if it's on GBA and has cartoon/anime graphics, I think) It was okay for a type of game you'd play when you're bored of everything else. I wouldn't buy it though. Civilization III - I love this game, it's based in a realistic world (Earth if you choose it) and has realistic technology. There are a lot of military units, (the game starts in the Stone Age and ends in the near future). But the game is not based solely on military, either. I, myself, am a conquerer ;D but I have played it once or twice through without fighting a single battle to see how I would do. You are involved politically, economically, and militarily with your people, setting tax rates, funding science, and a lot more. It is turn-based, but not in the same was as TO or FFT. If you have any other questions on it, I know everything about that game. Lords of Magic: Special Edition - A lot of fun, wears itself out fast once you beat it, but from time to time you get back on and play another war. You'll see near the end it gets kind of old, though, loses the balance that makes it a challenge. Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete (PS) - I don't remember much about this game, but I do remember it was awesome. lol As for what you're going to play: Ogre Battle: Person of Lordly Caliber (N64) - Definately tell me how this one is. The PS one was GREAT! Xenogears (PS) - Heard this was great but never played it Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (PS) - If you rush through it, (or suck at the game) this game sucks, but if you use stealth like you're supposed to, and all the tools that you get, it's a lot of fun. Tenchu 2: Wrath of Heaven (PS) - Let me know if this is as good as the original. Grandia 2 (PS2) - Were the strategy games? Grandia (PS) - Were the strategy games? Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2) - I thought it was a great game, play this one AND THEN San Adreas, or else VC won't be as much fun. Tales of Symphonia (GC) - I heard this was great, and at the moment, I have a GC, I might rent it Super Smash Bros. Melee (GC) - What's the difference from the first one? Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (PS2) - Tell me how this is, some reviews were saying it was a video game revolution, other said it sucked God of War (PS2) - I heard this way great, never played it and hardly seen it Hope this helped some.
