I want the fire to be there until the party manages to put it out, though... is there any way to make it so that the buildings will keep burning AND let the player run around and do their thing? Maybe I was a bit vague... Putting an "apply together" in the script that places the fire, just before the effect command, will allow the players to move. The game freezes when it hits an infinite loop, even a VFX Loop! This gets it past that. As for putting out multiple fires on a single map one at a time... That gets Very Complicated. You need to "clear all effects" then replace all that are still active! Within 1 frame or it looks bad. I use flags and called scripts and "Apply Together" again to do such things. Hope that helps... Peace

Welcome Back!
Lots of us are making comebacks lately.
To answer your question...
All together now:
"Apply Together" will get you past the infinite loop of the effect.
Check my VFX Editor Guide (link in signature) for more fun with VFX!
I need motivation to finish that.

Go figure...
Maybe it'll be a trend!

Without placing many Camera commands (in each of the steps of "Battle Ordering") (been a while.... I forget the right words) a simple cheat would be to simply adjust the enemy actions to stay within the camera at default.
It may be easier.
If there is a simple way to keep the camera at a different angle for entire battles, I am unaware of it.
Maybe one of our DBS Experts can reveal The Solemn Truth of this matter!
Good Luck with it.
Peace.

The best advice I can offer has already been buried in the old thread pages. It is HERE. It's a run-down of how to use the VFX editor to make it create it's own coordinate system you can use as a reference in various ways to help pinpoint these things. If you are having trouble with some other aspect of the VFX editor, post as specific a question as you can articulate and I'm sure you will get assistance. The problem with visual effects debugging is asking the right questions, we can't see what's happening! I'm certain you'll get it right. It just takes a little practice. One final, bleedin' obvious, tip: use the Help Files (press Start) on every "button" in the VFX Editor! They may be more helpful that you realize (if you have not read them already... but then again, a second reading never hurts).

When you say your VFX do not show up it may have to do with how you place them.
For a soldier swinging a sword be sure you created the effect around the "source" figure and not an enemy (I realize you probably know that, but I am trying to cover several possibilities).
Also be sure to set the effect to the event and not Viewpoint.
If you want to see what may be wrong, temporarily pull the camera out really far and watch your scene again. Sometimes you can catch something way out of place and figure out what went wrong From that.
Again... Good luck with it.

The only thing you need to worry about is if the two scripts are different lengths (in terms of Frames not commands) then the main script will continue to run while the longer movement script is still going. This may or may not cause problems depending on the timing of your cut scene. This is just something you need to watch out for. And that is when "Wait For Script End" comes in handy. That will make the main script wait until all called scripts have finished running before continuing. I could not make cut-scenes without it! Good luck. Peace.

I didn't put a long involved story on there, because I thought that almost everyone would pick that option, being that that is what the game is really about. I ran a similar poll recently. See this thread for proof of what you say and dissenting opinions. It seems a lot of folks want an interesting battle system above all else. And more... I'll have to vote for the varying stories, but only if there is some cue that they exist and when these decisions are made. Even if only in a separate "Strategy Guide," or else your replay value will be much lower.

I just thought of a potential problem. Is there a way to heal party members that aren't in the party at the moment? That is no problem at all. The Members>Attributes command can be used. It works for members whether they are currently in the party or not. That is how I wrote my first inne script. It does require a separate command set for each member, but it works. The same applies for statuses, but I think you have to confirm some of them before they can be removed (use the confirm command in the same window as the remove and apply commands). There is a way to generalize these commands, but brute force works just as well... it's just a waste of memory and not very elegant. For the generalized version check script #245 (Inn) in the pre-sets. Around line 23 it starts a repeat loop using member order to cycle through the party. I suppose if you cycled through the Party Member Database instead it would work for non-present members, but I have not tried to do this. If you want to try, be sure to delete non-used pre-set party members. Either that or set the repeat loop to end at the appropriate database number. But this is only a game and if brute force gets it working, that counts as success. Good luck with it. Peace.

I made a game from the file with the cow Moovie I made (from that Cow design collaboration we did a while ago!).
The Adventures of A Very Naughty Cow is finished and submitted too. It's a 10 minute game for the garbage contest at the pavilion, but fun. You are in the credits!
If you like the idea of playing as a Cow, and setting people's hair on fire - This game is for you!!!

How's this for motivation...
I just got started on a mini game to get myself back in gear for The Clean Underwear Quest!
It will go in the Pavilion's Garbage contest, so I'm not going to say anything other than...
WOW!
I impressed myself with innovative uses for VFX!!
You will have some Serious Competition from me in this one for VFX Guy around here!!
So get to it if you want to hold on to that Reputation!
I'm getting back to Doc...
Nevermind.

I read the reviews and knew what to expect! Anyway, I saved the game, ate something, and returned to the playing (after some mundane real life distractions... ) to an amusing cut scene. I skipped the next save turtle and died at the boss fight! (I wasn't leveling up... just running from fights... and I also entered it without healing) Since I had to start over, here is the aforementioned scene! SPOILER WARNING: DON'T WATCH THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE SUPER HERO WHO MAKES A CAMEO IN THIS GAME! I have only seen it mentioned cryptically and am not sure if it is common knowledge.
I died yesterday at 2nd part of the 2-part boss fight. Then life took over again. I had to disconnect the computer from the PS2 and use it for work for a bit, but I made this first. Now I might not get to finish this weekend! I'm gonna try to put in a little bit before work, but I am juggling household chores with uploading junk and playing just requires too much focused attention for right now. I'll write up yet another review of this game for the contest (is that thing dead yet?) when I'm done! Peace.

Here are two mpg files representing the opening sequence to Hippy Hunt 2! I had this morning set aside to play a couple games and this was on the top of the list. I took a break after saving and decided, when I returned, that it would be a good idea to just do this part before I finished the game. So... You have all heard the warnings (NAUGHTY LANGUAGE! POTTY HUMOR! PEEING ON PEOPLE!! INJURY TO EYE!! BLOOD MORE!!) They still apply. Have fun... I'm gonna go eat and then maybe finish this game! Peace.

Only thing I noticed wrong was one typo... "Carma" is actually spelled "Karma". Good Carma Will Run Over Bad Dogma!

Here is a look at Bigfoot's Latest effort: **STRONG LANGUAGE WARNING!!** *THE MPG FILES CONTAIN NAUGHTY LANGUAGE!* I put the trailer for my game which Bigfoot made separate to help keep the file sizes down a bit. These are two huge files as there were not a lot of good places to create breaks! If these are too large for our dial-up users, let me know! I can make bad edits! Enjoy! Peace.

Trailers for other folks stuff in your game?
That's a great idea!
And a truly original one too.
You have full rights to advertise anything I have done in any way you see fit.
I look forward to it.

Oh, the idea... Ummm... Sounds fun.
I wanted to use RPGM2 for a Cartoon ever since I got it and now even more people are beating me to it!!!
I wish I had more time for this... Yeah I get to post a lot from work, but that ain't the same as time spent working on a game.
Peace.

More Art! If this keeps up we may need another forum ( other sites have 'em). Nice work. I detect some modern comic art influences. I think the "Death" character works best with your style. The exaggerations work great in his design. Do so. It's a great hobby. Peace.

Have you considered posting a game file that is just animations?
One big cut scene that shows off as much as possible.
It's complicated, but possible to include a battle system this way. I'm still working on figuring that out myself... but it is possible.
Just a thought.
Peace.
