It is more in the way their site allows HTML.
The document is fine.
I used to do tons of HTML, but the Mag has a few auto thingies (I guess for security) that change the way HTML is read in certain cases.
It reads empty lines!
It also objected to the whole Head thing.
I code in notepad and I use lots of blank lines to block out what I'm doing.
Browsers ignore it, so I never had a problem.
This is what comes from being self taught.
Thanks for the tip, though!
I'll keep it in mind.
Peace.

I got a sample page from the VFX Editor Guide up. You can download an HTML file from my forum or see it at The Mag. They allow HTML, so it was not a problem. I just could not get the text all black... too much work. Pretend the text is black or just download the real thing. www.rpgmmag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=26108AND VOTE IN THE GUIDE'S TUTORIAL POLL FOR YOUR FAVORITE EFFECT!! Peace.

I think every poll needs a Splunge option. Honestly I can't see this being finished anytime soon. I think early next year there will still be as much memory left as needed for many more people to get involved. Right now it is not even started. The Moovie I posted was designed just to show off the Cow Model and his Horn Beams. I gave him the ability to shoot his spots (and even Nostrils) just before I sent the file to The Final Rune for Map making. And it will never be too late! As long as the memory lasts people will be welcome to jump in. Anyone else?

Take your time!
As always, quality is better that quantity and we all know art can't be rushed.
Just have fun with it!
Also, I'm old fashioned and very rarely check my email. Please let me know here when you email so I can be sure to look. I'm lucky if I check it once a month. It's just not part of my routine.
I look forward to whatever you come up with!
Peace.

You say that like it's a bad thing.
Read The Book of the SubGenius and learn the true value of Slack!
And I'm going to do the file transfer thing RIGHT NOW!
Expect it in your email very soon!

The Cowntinent can go either way. If making explorable land precludes a good display (or vice versa) then stick with one or the other (or both) (it's an open ended collaboration... As Satan would say "Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of The Law" except, of course, for the previously stated bit about altering other peoples' work).
I found the Max Disc, so now just have to do the transfer to a zip file and send it along!
It should be there by tonight (this morning if I can get enough other work done first).
So I guess I'll get to it.
And the Mickey Runey joke came while listening to my Animaniacs CD. Remember The Universe Song? The chorus goes "It's a Great Big Universe, And we're all really puny, We're just tiny little specks, About the size of Mickey Rooney, It's big and black and inky, And we are small and dinky, It's a big Universe, And we're not."
Anyway, the Mickey Rooney line came on just as I saw one of your name changes and it just seemed to fit.
Peace.

I meant the people who voted, but did not post.
If they wish to remain anonymous for a while (or forever even), that's fine.
I just noticed a couple more votes than people who posted and wondered.
Peace.

I think it may work better if we somehow at least partly go with each others' stories (instead of cutting them off suddenly). We'd get much crazier stuff. Agreed! I only mentioned the possibility of changing everything to keep it open ended. You would not believe where some of our Old Hippy campfire stories went. Especially if the right mushrooms were growing nearby (there are many in the mountains of Pennsylvania!). I have seen your cutscenes and look forward to your participation. I still have not cast my vote, though I already said I would prefer it be a movie. I just do not see how a collaborative game could be made to work (too much planning ahead is needed for a good game). So,... Who are our unknown voters? Ya can't participate if we don't know who you are! Peace.

Well, as the old campfire game went, anybody could do anything with any character on their turn.
It just went around the circle until you got bored or the beer ran out or whatever.
This would have a definite limit (based on memory usage). But apart from that it could go anywhere at all!
Anyone who wanted to do away with the previous plot so theirs could be done could simply have a character wake up saying "Oh! What a terrible dream!" and take it in a new direction. Which could be restored to the previous story with an equally bad excuse by the next person.
Is fun.
Peace.

OK first things first... Splunge means Yes. Or No. But I'm not being indecisive! (Watch more Monty Python!) Anyway, there is already a collaboration going on with this cow: It was created between Bigfoot and myself. Mickey Runey (Sorry, when people keep changing their names I just cant help myself! Ask Smurf!) is making a Cowntinent (as soon as I find my max drive disc). So would anyone want to partake in such an effort? Theories as to how it can be done are welcome. I am leaning heavily toward the Moovie because it would be easy to do in the campfire game tradition where people just make more after the previous person finishes. Who knows how long such a "cut scene" would run? But it would be fun. However, it is not my way to force my will on a group effort. So I ask for suggestions. If you have trouble with cut scenes this could be a perfect opportunity to learn! The only rule I would impose from the start would be no messing around with other people's work. Any other suggestions or comments are welcome. Thanks for voting. Peace.

I'll download it and have something for you this weekend.
If there's anything you want shown (or not shown) let me know.

With the first draft of the VFX Editor Guide roughed out to near completion (click the link in my signature to see this massive effort!) this service is back in business!
I announced that it would be taking a break, and now announce it's return.
I recall seeing a request for "someone" who can do this, and made a note... which I promptly lost.
Whomever asked, post here! (or if you know who it was, point them here!)
Others too.
Just a reminder: this is a weekend only process for me. My work weeks are strangely busy.
Peace.

Rather than risk the first page screwing up again, I'll just wait to delete this topic until someone posts here in another topic. I can do that. This service will be taking a short holiday to get the Unofficial VFX Editor Guide First Draft together. I'm wrapping up my last stuffs this week and starting on the guide this weekend. Expect a return of this service after Valentines Day. Peace.

My internet is moving incredibly slowly and I can't upload anything (I keep "Timing Out").
Everything's ready, but will have to wait until later for uploading.
This is becoming a regular thing on weekend afternoons.
Blame my ISP.
Oh yeah, Nash; making huge files is not a problem on this end, but people have complained about file size before (they can't download it all) so I try to limit it for their sakes. It's up to you.
Peace.

With all my current projects going on here and in terms of home improvement I am officially giving notice of a short hiatus on this service.
Next weekend will be my last until I finish the first draft of the VFX Editor Guide.
So get those requests in now if you want anything before the middle of February.
I have some to make today to finish up Nash and Smurf's requests.
I can always refresh outdated temporary links, that takes no effort. But I want to focus on the guide for a while and I can foresee this service getting in the way.
It's only a couple weeks, but I wanted to give formal notice in case someone was planning on making a request at that time.
Peace.

OK, I have just downloaded all three requests.
I ran a little behind writing a review and wanted to finish that before moving on.
Smurf asked first, but if the movie thing is really just a movie then it may go first because it is easier.
Expect to see stuff in your respective forums tomorrow morning!
Peace.

This was a very busy weekend here and I did not get to do much playing at all. I did not even get to finish my Genesis Chronicles game and review!
I usually reserve this service for weekends, but I'll see if anything can be done before work during the week.
If not, both sets will be ready for next weekend!
Work weeks can be hectic and make side projects difficult.
One of these days I should just rearrange the house so that these machines are all together... but then I'd have to stop burning incense while making games (No smoke of any kind in the Good Computer's Room)!
Peace.

Next weekend I'll be doing some work on my VFX guide. Then I get two 3-day-work-weeks in a row for The Solstice and Perihelion, so the timing is good.
Peace.

William Kirk's Solemn Truth mpg files have been posted!!
Check the Paladin Board for them.
From the point of view of the guy making the promo video I have an observation:
During the last fight I had a new ability I could not demo for the mpg file because of lack of "MP" (I forget what he called it). There should have be another "MP" item handy for the demo.
If anyone wants these made for themselves, it may be wise to add some of this stuff to my inventory should you choose to password protect your file. You will get better videos that way.
I just like to make the best possible product and this seemed like a good tip for you to help me give you better stuff.
Peace.

Gotcha.
I'll just take a couple screen shots to use as picture links to the videos.
And I already saved the VFX Thing in a Notepad file for ease of use. But thanks for offering.

Ummm...
I am terrible about checking my email.
It is just not part of my routine.
So, no. I did not yet, but shall check it as soon as I'm done this post.
I thought you were just sending the VFX Guide Submission and figured it would be safe there until I check it. I get little spam because I don't use the email often at all, so it should be safe.
But to answer your question directly, This weekend. I usually reserve screenshooting for weekends as it requires a major shuffling of hardware and that's when I have the most time.
I have other shots to take this weekend too, so I'll let you know as soon as it's ready.
Sorry if you told me you were sending a game too and I missed it, I really don't recall hearing about this until just now!
Peace.
===== EDIT: =====
OK I got the emails...
The game file was fine, but my 'puter doesn't like the wordpad file for the VFX Editor Article. It won't open the file and I have wordpad! I do not understand why, but all I get is squares and other symbols.
Maybe send it as text (in the body of an email or something) (but let me know it's coming!!) or as a notepad file.
There is plenty of time as I don't plan on starting the VFX guide until the weekend after this coming one.
Again, sorry if I missed you telling me you were sending the game for screenshots. But I am always doing many things at once when online and that may be why I missed it. It is definitely why I do not often check my email.
Anyway... I understood the instructions and shall create the movie as requested!
Peace.
<><><><><><> EDIT AGAIN!: <><><><><><>
Nevermind... It opened with the Word Processor this 'puter came with... I always just use notepad! This was the first time I opened the word processor on my new-fangled machine!!
I'm old and set in my ways...
(The real reason is that notepad opens in a matter of seconds while what used to be Microsoft Word but now appears to Microsoft Works Word Processor takes minutes and has to go through a Task Launcher and is just a pain so I ignore it.)
Sorry for the false alarm.
Peace.
