Sorry to hear, I've often lost work on RPGM2 but nothing much more than like a day or two. But for an ACBS game and my progress speed when I'm actually working it's quite a loss. I will definatley have to pick up RPGM3 someday, weather i use it myself or not.

MY REVIEW OF THE DEMO
I must say it was studly! Well done on the customization which I love. I like how you use X instead of triangle to initiate everything, but it also causes things to initiate slower. The battle system I see is still in progress but what you have so far is awesome. You made your menu systems well. I did yun int a problem with the square menu, it froze the game when I was done and tried to get out of it.
I'm curious as to how you accessed Content script commands from an action scriptlike the pressing X. I know how to get events to activate to any button press at locations but not to get content script commands to work. Oh and I didn't realize there was a variable that messed with the current text font style which one is that? Or size. Everything was pretty good except a couple areas where controls were delayed or didn't seem to work in time (the slime minigame for example). You definately have something going with this, keep up the good work ;-)

What do you mean you don't change options? I was looking at your screens. Is like the top block always the one that's your current choice or what? Like the one screen has like "Save and Exit/Quit" it was something like that. But there was no indicator as to which option you were currently on. Get what I mean? I'm sure you have something working this out but I couldn't tell from the screens and I was very curious.

No No your missing my point! How do you indicate from multiple text boxes which one your on. Like the sideways "^" symbol when you have a multiple choice event. What do you use for your game? Like: Attack Defend Blah Bloo Blee
How do you indicate to the party which option they're on, or don't you?

I meant if you used a visual effect for the "cursor", the current choice your on. I saw from the screens that you were using text boxes.

I have a couple questions on your menu system. Some ideas I was throwing around when I was planning out mine. Do you have the cursor a graphic event or do you change the text color ( colour for my canadian friends ) or something else. Also do you select with the right and left to go back or do you use X and O?

Wow, impressive screens. I like the whole menu system where you can press the directionals and scroll around and do whatever. I was thinking of something similiar with a custom menu and for some cool mini games. This also allows you to get more then 8 options for choices as well. If you haven't I would suggest in menus having like r1 l1 move the cursor to top or bottom of the list.

Somebody besides me who can apreciate these jokes ;-)
Two hydrogen atoms bumped into each other recently. One said: "Why do you look so sad?" The other responded: "I lost an electron." Concerned, One asked "Are you sure?" The other replied "I'm positive."
A neutron walks into a bar, sits down and asks for a drink. Finishing, the neutron asks "How much?" The bartender says, "For you, no charge."
A chemist walks into a pharmacy and asks the pharmacist, "Do you have any acetylsalicylic acid?" "You mean aspirin?" asked the pharmacist. "That's it, I can never remember that word."
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate!
Rules of the lab:
If an experiment works, something has gone wrong. When you don't know what you're doing, do it neatly. Experiments must be reproduceable, they should fail the same way each time. First draw your curves, then plot your data. Experience is directly proportional to equipment ruined. Always keep a record of your data. It indicates that you have been working. To do a lab really well, have your report done well in advance. If you can't get the answer in the usual manner, start at the answer and derive the question. In case of doubt, make it sound convincing. Do not believe in miracles--rely on them. Team work is essential, it allows you to blame someone else. All unmarked beakers contain fast-acting, extremely toxic poisons. No experiment is a complete failure. At least it can serve as a negative example. Any delicate and expensive piece of glassware will break before any use can be made of it.

I honestly don't mind the side comments and such, I just fealt you were asking for it to be critiqued so figured I would look for anything that could be considered unpro. So i just figured if anyone was seriously using this thing for like fast reference or help they should have the info they want in a contained and formal manner. But honestly that's getting a little too nit-picky for what we're all in. It's all up to you.

Read it yesterday morning, sorry I didn't comment then but had to get to work and stuff. It's pretty good, but I could give a few critiques I guess. I don't consider myself to be hard or reading so the font size could be toned dow for mere scrolling purposes along with the pics linking to pigger versions of the pics. The article seems really Large and Elongated(?) and you probably shouldn't "digress" too much while on actual topics of your guide, intro and conclusion and stuff feel free. But when someone looks for a particular topic they should have instant info they need and not read through other text regardless of humor (canadian humour?) or auxilary info. Honestly not big dels but idk, good job none the less.

Well I played your demo and I can honestly say I still have no idea what the hell is going on lol. Some cool effects and some that need some work but it ok. Like when you teleport ino a door your body expands through the roof and stuff. I beat the Card players without even trying. And the mini scene in the pub was funny. I also did the first two puzzles, and sorta did the thrid one, just got sick of it and went back. But yeah... The whole animal-ritual-oral-sex thing was slightly disturbing but w-e I'll live lol

You know how you took all those screenshots for RPGM3 of each character. Well you should do the same but for all the models in the VFX editor. Also a few of them will need a couple variations, like one as the pillar in orb form, one as true pillar, and one like where it arcs like a tornado and stuff. (tornado's are hard to make a good arc'd one).
Also what layering effects can do, like for example in my mecha mage movie, the ?? guy's bluish mixed attack was made through layering. I took a normal blue orb that was stretched rotating one way at +5, then did a another orb of the same thing pasted over, but changed it's color to pinkish-purple and made it's blend mode transparent, and had it rotate at -5 rate.

I like the Action Battle System. That's what I went with, and love to work with. There's already plenty of use whe've done it so if you get "stuck" we can help. I also found some really good AI scripting. It's up to you but there is my vote. Good Luck on whatever you do.

Here try this: www.diabloii.net/items/weapons/Then if you click on that weapon it will give you examples of each type. You shouldn't take these exact weapons, this is more just to give you an idea.
