This sounds really cool! But I guess I'm still a noob when it comes to these things because I have no idea how you got the spiderman outfit on the characters.
Can't wait to see some screen shots.

Ok. If you don't like the title, then I'll change it.
Heres more of the story:
Main Character: Syran (Ok, I use this name everywhere. This is the last time. And I use it as a dedication to my cousin who wanted this name)
Time Period: A Medevilish setting.
Starts out on a Ratair ship carrying important strategical documents. Your mentor, Treyor(Another name I use a lot), and the other soldiers on the ship are ordered to protect it at all costs along the (forget the name but its in the game) river. You take a stop on the side of the river to pick up injured strangers in the woods. While getting them the ship is ambushed and destroyed by Tarnce soldiers. Treyor manages to get the documents from the boat before it sinks. They run along the coast of the river escaping from Tarnce fire(They use fire/ice/lightning magic). They finally escape from them. Thats about the first 10 minutes of the game. Leaving out one important detail. Don't want to give everything away. So you have to make your way through the forest's coast to get to the base.
Overview of the Story: You are assigned to various units throughout the game and you have to follow out your duties. Sometimes things go as planned, sometimes not. You often get sidetracked away from your unit. Eventually, you end the war...and a new enemy appears.
Each Nation will be unique in their fighting teqnique so you'll have to use different strategies in fighting them.
If you want me to continue I will.
I'll make a seperate posts about the Tech Items.

The ability will be permanantly learned. However, I need to make it so that some abilities can't be taught to certain party members. Any thoughts?

Phew...been awhile.
Anyway, I have started working on my newest projects! Journey of a Soldier being one of them, and another one which I won't give any info out on yet.
Brief Story Overview: The world is torn between the three empires of Tarnce, Kaise, and Ratair. The war has continued for 20 years and things aren't slowing down. War Status: Kaise: The weakest of the empires composed of specialized ninjas. Very low in numbers compared to Ratair and Tarnce. Uses unfair tactics to defeat oponents. Tarnce: Tarnce is composed of the largest army and they are trained fairly well. Ratair: A large nation composed of a moderatly sized army. They start training a group of men/women called the Ratair Elite Force, which becomes the most powerful group in the world.
In the game, you start out as a trainee for the Ratair Elite Force. The main character progresses to become a leader.
The War Feature: A special feature included in this game is that you are given command of whole armies to lead in battle. You get to choose where soldiers attack, defend, etc... in battle. The better your choices are, the easier it is to win.
Tech Items: Making a return from my last game. Teaches specific abilities to certain party members. Need help on how to make these.
So tell me what you think so far. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the double post. I just wanted to tell you that my new song "True Power" will be up soon, hopefully. So keep checking daily if you want to hear it. I'd say the piece itself will be finished in 2 days. Then it'll come up whenever Doan feels like posting it.
For some reason, the only pieces I've posted on here with are strings. But I barely ever compose with them.

Ok, cool Nash. I'll try to do that. But I don't think I did it too well with my next piece because I finished it before I got this message. The song Malokite is now complete. If you would like to hear it, either ask me to email it to you, or hopefully Doan will be kind enough to put it up.
Ok, thanks guys. Peace out.

Its ok. Be critical. I need to know what to improve on.
I got another song coming up soon called Malokite. If you want to hear it, give me your email addresses and I'll send it to you. I don't want to bother doan with all this stuff and I think it would be easier this way.
Thanks!

I would like for you guys to listen to some of the music I've composed for my game Deston Chronicles(http://doansdomain.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=creative&action=display&thread=1139523790) I would like feedback regarding how it is. Repetitive, not catchy...etc. I would like to post the music here but I can't find out how to post attachments here. So for now, I'll just email it to you guys. If you guys are willing to listen to it, then give me your email and I will email it to you. Thank you! Oh yeah, and I'll throw in the song from FF10 because its pretty cool. And I'll throw in the Magus fight from Chrono Trigger. Just as a bribe

YES! I figured it out.
Well, problem 1 and 2 are finished. I covered a lot of ground in RPG Maker 2 today, mostly with the battle system. Balancing it out and stuff.
I still need help with the Tech Items though, as explained above.
BUT THANK YOU FOR THE OTHER TIPS! THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL!
Ok, in addition to the Tech Items problem, I have one more. How do I specificaly make one battle have different music than the others. Someone showed me how to do this once, but I forget now.
Thanks again. Cya.

Ok...
1. In battle, my characters can't choose who to attack. How do I let the player choose who to attack in battle?
2. When my characters attack, you don't see any sword or club hit the enemy, you actually just see the enemy move back from being hit. It just looks really wierd how theres nothing even hitting it but it gets hit anyway.
3. Tech Items- Items that can teach certain characters abilities. However, only certain characters can learn abilities from these items. How would I make items like these.
Thanks in advance...
I have some other questions on the battle system as well, but this is all for now.

Hey everyone.
I have the strategy guide for RPG Maker 2 and I have tried reading it, but everything is all confusing. The sample game really helped me get in touch with some of the features of RPG Maker 2.
It would be really cool if someone made a sample game with a guide to help out noobs like me. If I was good with RPG Maker 2, I would do it because I know how frustrating it can be.
It would be a pretty cool project IMO. Someone should work on it to help noobs like me. If its needed, I can do a very basic game guide.
Oh yeah, and my ranking on this site is pretty funny. I actually am trying to figure out what a variable is now.

OMG
THAT WAS AWSOME.
Jaw dropping...
All I have left to say, is where do I sign up for lessons.
Really, If I was that good, I would make a guide to make a game like that and sell it. I would buy it.

I keep hearing people talk about VFX and all the things they make with it. What is it? What can you do with it? Where in RPG Maker 2 is it?
Once and for all, I'm finally going to try and learn what variables are. If someone could give me an example and an explanation of what they do, it would help me out a lot. Also, input variables. I don't get them either.
Thanks in advance.

I couldn't find it. I'll look harder a little later.
lol, you'll never guess what happened. After hours of work, my Dimensions Adventure game had a problem and I lost hours of work. But thats ok, because I didn't like what I was doing anyway. I'm gonna make it better, adding more puzzles and magic than just the standard "Get this item. Then use that item to get this item" quest.
I started Deston Chronicles: The Two Realms again, and completed the start up screen and completly dismantled the other story. It now has a whole new story and theme. No more "three sacred stones."
A little summary:
The world was at war for over 100 years. The powerful nations fought for control of the world. After no one had won, the leaders came together in a peace conference and united all the nations into The Restreer Empire. Every ruler now did not have complete control, and had to consult the other leaders before taking action. This was not to their liking and soon, rivals developed. One ruler, Ivale, secretly formed a army of trained soldiers. He ordered them to kill the other rulers, and they did. Ivale was proclaimed King and he changed the name of his new nation to Ivalette, named after himself.
Even though Ivale was greedy and corrupt, the world entered a time of peace. This was because there was nothing left to conquer or fight. That is until one day when he acidentaly stumbled upon the ruins of an old shrine... Inside the shrine were the writings of an old myth that showed the path to another realm...
The main character is still Syran. He lives in Montalk(same town as before with a different setting) and is sent by his father to the capitol city, Ratair, to sell and buy things at the market(sound familiar?). This will be a mini game.
Also, what do you guys think of these mini games: 1. A mining mini game where you choose where to dig and you pay money for the people to mione there. Whatever is found is yours to keep. 2. A town ranch that holds horse races and you can compete in it to win prizes.
Tell me what you think of this whole new story.

...I am sorry to announce that Deston Chronicles: The Two Realms...has been canceled. I...accidently erased over it with Dimension Adventures. This sucks!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't be continuing Deston Chronicles: The Two Realms the way I did it before. It was a little cliche anyway. With my little new knowledge, I could create something better than the old one...maybe. ARRRGHH!!!!!! I am still making a Deston Chronicles: The Two Realms game, just not like the one before. It'll have major changes. A totally different beginning, and a more clean environment. A more tweaked and less cliche story. Better talking scripts and cutscenes. But the beginning is definitly the hardest part so it is gonna be a pain. I'll start it when I get half way done with Dimension Adventures. I might as well explain what Dimension Adventures is about since I am currently on hold for Deston Chronicles: The Two Realms. Dimension Adventures: Beginning: The main character does not have a name and does not speak the whole game(kinda like Link from Zelda). At the beginning of the game you wake up in a pitch black screen floating in this wierd place. This is the Mistly Dimension, a place where nothing exists except what enters. Hero(the main character will now be referred to as Hero from now on) wakes up in the Mistly Dimension to a fairy. The Fairy leads him out of the Mistly Dimension and into the Dimension Chamber. Story: The Dimension Chamber is a place where you have access to all kinds of places around the universe. Darius is a dark king that lives in a castle in a far away dimension from everything. He accessed the Dimension Chamber and went inside each dimension and wrecked and poisoned all the land, people, and buildings. The buildings were destroyed, the land was poisoned, and the people were brainwashed and recieved amnesia. The people were also sent to the Mistly Dimension after being brainwashed. This is what happened to Hero. Fighting against Darius are Guardian Fairys that protect the Dimension Chamber. They travel to the Mistly Dimension and bring back the people to their own land. However Darius' minions keep poisoning the land and sending the people back to the Mistly Dimension. This is where Hero comes in. One guardian Fairy that brings Hero to the Dimension Chamber explains that he is the only one with the strength, courage, and wisdom to defeat Darius. In the Dimension Chamber, the player gets control of Hero. Here you can enter all different sorts of portals, all with different difficulties and interlocking in some way. However, you have to complete certain levels to advance onto the harder difficulty levels. I'll just give an example of the first dimension: First Dimension: Fair's Meadow Fair is a lady that lives in a clean meadow...but then Darius poisoned her land and her house was destroyed and the forest was poisoned. Your job is to find the right items to cure the forest. There are different objectives and stories for each dimension. The funny thing is that there really aren't any "fights" in this game. I might include a few puzzle bosses or monsters where solving a puzzle will kill a monster, but thats really all I can do because I have no idea how to make a battle system outside of the RPG format. When I get more skilled with RPG Maker 2, I might add in enemies. Ok...thanks guys...cya later. I'm still kinda sad about saving over that file but what am I gonna do? I just gotta learn my lesson.
